how does this sound?
Currently, the smart thing to do is roam around in a pack and converge on the odd red dot that appears on the sensor.
how about a deployable piece of equipment that gones on the ground, and when remotely activated (or perhaps periodically) sends out a false signal of a contact.
I think something like this would vastly increase the tactical play in a game, if for example, higher tiers are able to mimic the signal of an LAV or a HAV that also opens up more possibilities, like distraction ect.
as for counter play, it would mean that a squad would have to be a lot more careful about the random red dot that appers on the sensors.

One of the CoD had a nade that mimiced gun fire and so it would show on enemy radar. I loved it and therefore support this idea.

Yes.
Decoys of some kind would be amazing for sneaky playstyles like knife fits or just anyone who needs to distract someone!

wasn't this in like total recall? The good one not the crap remake.
I think it would be epic to drop a beacon that has like a 30 sec timer on it and then hide with my ninja scout suit and milita shot gun :-)

damn... i think this is the first time in two months you have approved anything i said...
anyway, back on topic.
One way i imagined they would work, is that in order for the signal to be broadcasted, you'd need to remotely activate it so constantly pressing the button in order for the signal to appear. Depending on what you are trying to ghost, the probe/becon uses more battery power (indicated on the hud when its selected)
This would mean you could do a short blip for a short distraction or to get their attention or by constantly pressing the button, that would require teamwork as while they are pressing it, the enemy may make a beeline for the signal, but this means the deployer wont be able to use their weapon or change out fast enough while a short blip may cause them to try and search every nook and cranny for the target.
Another idea i had is that if there is an enemy tank tank on the field pointing towards where a friendly tank is coming, you could activate a fake tank signal to the side of them, distracting them long enough for the friendly tank to get the first shot off on them.
The possibilities are endless with this! |
