WHY ARE HEAVY'S INVINCIBLE WHEN USING THE FORGE GUN? I COULD SEE IF YOU COULD KILL THIS HEAVY STANDING IN THE SAME SPOT ALL GAME WITH HIS STUPID HAXORZ INFINITE FORGE GUN, BUT YOU CAN'T. |

Forge gunner using his forge gun to snipe infantry cross map? Damn, I wish I could aim a forge that well. forge gunner went 12-0 doing that? Damn, I'm glad I'm not stupid enough to keep spawning at / pushing the same place without going after the annoying "sniper" who's covering that objective.
The 1st time he killed you, that was because he's a good shot, the other 11 were because your team didn't have the brains to communicate his direction, norrow down his position and then either flank him, or put a sniper on him to make him keep his head down. (Sniper VS Forge at long range will normally go to the guy with the better aim, don't miss) |

Here is a novel thought. If you know exactly where he was well enough to create a graphic to support your thread then why didn't you and your squad go shoot him and then the next time he went up there go kill him again. Eventually he would have changed tactics if that forge sniper one wasn't working. What made HIM OP wasn't an OP weapon or his location on the map, or the modules in his drop suit. It was none of that. It was you and your team not going to kill him when you knew exactly where he was at. I won't go into detail all of the ways you could have countered his tactic or weapon but that's the point of balance there are a ton of other weapons you could have done the same thing he did with his forge. So if there are other weapons in the game you could get the same kills from then the forge is not OP. Try working as a team next time or maybe go on the other side of the map with your own forge gun and snipe him back. This has got to be one of the most ridiculous nerf threads I have read. |

AGREED. I love hunting down either snipers or forge gun snipers. I snipe with an SMG two inches from the back of a clones skull. |

Again, its not so much the range that is the issue, its the splash that allows it to one hit kill infantry, including heavies. This was the same ******* argument used by whining pussies to get rails and missiles nerfed, so why not.
And for the record, I was playing under an alt that I test other things on, and playing with all randoms, as was the other team. |

Hate to break it to you, but my dragonfly scout suit survives the first pair of misses, granted, I am smart enough that when I get that blue flash that makes my sheilds and 1/3 of my armor vanish, I grab hard cover and break LOS as fast as I can. Yes I do sometimes die to a forge gun round, but when that happens, I know either he was a damn good shot (try it, it's NOT easy to snipe with a forge), or he worked for that kill by flanking around whatever cover I used to break his LOS.
Forge guns, like sniper rifles, work best when you have a target moving at a constant velocity, along a predictable line of travel, out in the open. And any time I make those mistakes, I thank the sniper/forge gunner who just reminded me to move and fight smart. |

So you're missing the part where I said a clean shot at that range with a Railgun can be deliberately achieved, but it requires a fair amount of blind luck to land the same shot at the same distance with a Forge Gun?
