As the thread subject suggest removing the sway when being shot by hostiles is the theam of this post
for any who snipe you know that getting shot while scoped makes your aim swerve like you're trying to aim the gun in one hand and wack off with the other making it extreamly difficlt to return fire.
this also makes mid range support a bad idea as even taking a glanceing shot makes aiming harder for a few seconds and any good AR guy will have put you down by then.
so yeah by removing the sway when shot this will (hopefuly) make more snipers do close range suport for thier squads.
(edit):Perhaps instead of strait up removing it make diffrent types of scopes with long range having the sway when shot and the close range scopes without it? will make another thread later about diffrent types of scopes (note that these would not be limited to long and close range) |

No. If you take away the sway when being shot at, then you might as well take away the sway-like effect for other weapons like the forge gun.
Also, it doesn't make any sense when removing that for getting shot at. You may have some shields, but the impact of the shot is not something to be mitigated so easily given the technology for dust mercs. You are talking about not feeling the impact of a rail gun driven mass hitting you at face-ripping speeds and plasma shots burning your suit at hundreds of degrees F. It just wouldn't make any sense at all to take away the sway when getting shot it. It's like taking away radiation from the universe itself when you are floating in space.
So no, I disagree with your suggestion. The sway must stay. |

Yeah sorry OP but I'm going to have to sat no to your post, both the sway and partially the scopes. I don't mind different variations, but there shouldn't be ones tailored for close range with a sniper. The one we have now is at the minimum zoom that it should be. |

yes these things should happen but if they are happening to the sniper they should happen to all weapons or just hostile sniper fire should make it happen.
at the moment I know of only two weapons that do this (and I haven't used the second one in a bit so that may have been changed)
and yes I know this is in the wrong section hoping ccp will switch it at some point |

That doesn't address the flaw in your suggestion that it doesn't make sense. You are being hit by advanced weaponry that would tear off your limbs in one shot if you were not wearing the dropsuit. Some of these weapons emit so much energy into the environment that using them alone can burn you alive if you didn't have the suit. Again, being hit by these weapons and not feeling any sway in the process doesn't make sense. Especially for a sniper profession that requires absolute precision at long distances. The slightest nudge from a plasma hit of just one centimeter can throw off your shot by several yards... as it should be. |

I love sniping and I hate this thread. Do things like this and everyone will QQ about snipers even more, asking for nerfs and the like. Snipers are not meant for close medium range. They have secondary weapons for this. If you get hit a bullet or whatever it should make it hard to aim. Simple. When you take a shot you should have reposition the reticle again. Basic. |

Try strapping on some kevlar and take a small round to the chest and tell me you can keep the aim through a scope perfectly straight. Your post doesn't make sense, you just want a gun that does tremendous damage in a combat range it isn't designed for.
As a sniper, if they're shooting at you, then you're doing it wrong =p. |
