The CorpGÇÖs

This is the statement at the bottom of the post "How To Start Your Own CorporationGÇ¥, but what is your business? They tell you how to make a corp, but you won't be told how to run it.
There are three basic types of Corps that you see in Dust which are Military/Competitive, Business and Community based CorpGÇÖs and each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The key is to emphasize your strengthGÇÖs to the point you have no weakness. For example TCD is Community based as for Imperfects they are Competitive based, then you have Tritan Industries that is striving to be business based.
I find to be successful in organizing anyone of these three types you must start with a strong (and clear) direction. Now that direction could be a goal, idea or simply following the will of a person because direction in itself is a powerful management tool. ItGÇÖs as simple as picking a side in faction warfare, choosing to gather the best player to win a tourney or just build a great Merc team for the highest bidder. When all else fails you still know your over all destination.
Next step is establishing communication. Communication is best executed in simplicity. When you only have one message to get across, you shouldn't have to do it through 20 different channels. Choose the method of communication that will reach the majority of your organization within the designated time frame you need that message across(Website, chat channel, E- and in game Mail). If you implement a change to your organization and fail to inform your member base in a respectable amount of time (or donGÇÖt inform them at all) they will feel betrayed. No matter what level a member is they still are a partner because they are a part. To best keep this relationship fine tune, make sure the communication from your member base to you is just as simple. (Like IGÇÖm [email protected], @ZionShad on twitter or ZionShad on Skype)
Structure is the frame work over your foundation. ItGÇÖs the inner workings that hold any establishment together. Leadership is what binds that structure. To view leadership plainly look at it as an alternative method of communication. ItGÇÖs communicating from one person to another (like the kidGÇÖs game GÇ£TelephoneGÇ¥). So those that best lead are those that best listen, understand and relay/execute the message.
