If I want to delete and reinstall Dust to try and fix some bad lag spikes I've been having, is there any way to do that without wiping all of my characters? Is there a way for me do delete the client but not the save files? Thanks in advance. |

Only delete the file that starts the game. NOT the save game data |

There is no real data saved on the hard drive. Really the only thing that gets saved is the client. All else is saved server side. |

That's pretty much only your options like volume levels and whatnot. Your characters are stored on CCP's servers. |

Characters are saved server-side.
Delete everything from your HDD, and you'll still have all your stuff when you come back. |

Thanks for the quick responses.
Just so I have everything straight - I can delete everything DUST related on my PS3 (If I want to) without risk to my characters or SP because all of that information is stored CCP client side?
Thanks again |

Thanks again Yes, exactly QFT, this is exactly it. delete any and everything Dust on your PS3, redownload and CCP has all your characters server side. the only thing that gets removed if deleting the save file is sensitivity, voice on, PTT off, etc. |

To fix your lag spikes rebuild your PS3 database. Works well for me everytime I face too much lag or freezes. All your playlists etc will be deleted though. Everything else remains. Google how to rebuild your PS3 database. It does not delete your games saves etc. |

You may get a little less load lag as you will not be downloading the unused older portion of the game(if you have been playing for multiple builds the size of dust is larger than if you download it now). This may only help because there is less space between files for dust(meaning lower seek time).
The lag you were experiencing may be because of a problem with the matchmaking which is server side which has been fixed. |
