Can we please get the flight ceiling put back to previous precursor build settings?

As someone who shoots down dropships I approve this request. I don't think it needs to be 3 km though :)

As long as it doesn't turn into missiles from jesus (good old limited draw distance reference) .

If a ds can hit me i want to be able to shoot back with swarms or forge.

My theory is they lowered the flight ceiling so that they can make mountains around the edge of maps that dropships can't fly over, thus removing the need to have several square kilometers of red zone on the edges of the maps and instead allowing them to use most, if not all, of the map for gameplay area.

I'm still not happy about it, and would much rather see a different solution, but I can see why they did it.

 Do need it raised
Forge Guns now outrange a Dropship when it comes to attacking one another, and Railguns will drop us very quickly even at a great distance. (You try firing back from a Dropship, doesn't work at range.). Atleast let us get some height so we can try and do something before getting ripped to pieces.

But the mountains are high enough to allow for a bit of a raise without breaking this use.

I approve this post. we should be able to get out of forge range by flying high enough.

I think the balance could be that you are more vulnerable to swarms when flying high, but you can fly outside the range of Forge rounds.

Dropships cant hit anything right now. There are absolutely useless right now with the overnerf. The only thing they are good for now is transportation. But then why would you need a dropship when you have a LAV.

If the flight ceiling was high enough that swarms and forges could not hit the drop ship.
it would bring back the need for dropship vs dropship combat to remove the mobile spawn point hovering high in the air.

I like the sentiment of increasing dropship v dropship combat, but I think something on the ground should be able to hit them.

EDIT: Skihids, true, if the dropship can't hit targets on the ground it think it would be fine to have the flight ceiling out of swarm range.

Missiles have a range now, so if a dropship is flying too high to get hit by your weapon they are too far away to hit you back.

In fact that is the case today. A ship can hover out of range of your swarms and not be able to hit you back either.

The only change a higher flight ceiling would give is the ability to disengage from combat and still go someplace rather than hide behind a buildiing in the redzone.
