If your fighting on a planet thats far away from the star of that system, say the equivalent to our pluto, would the game actually show that??? i mean would the maps be noticably darker because of how far the closest star is from it? i think it would be cool if it was like that (maybe a little too dark though....). idk, what do you guys think? i mean...... all things considered i feel like it should be like that but idk..... |

I think they've already said this is very much how it'll be and is in the works? I know they mentioned it at the EVEFest talk on it. Would be nice if it made it. |

I could have sworn there was already a white icy look available in this build, though its rare to see it. And icy environments does not equal ice planet; Earth is a temperate planet, but has icy environments like the poles. |

It looks more Barren\Ash I think. I know the one you're talking about, but I know for certain the new build has snow (Like I said, check the vid ^^) |

i remember them mentioning something about planets and how their orbits COULD effect things...... this was after an audiance member at fanfest asked CCP a good question about it..... cant say i remember what it was about though..... when it comes to this game i feel like CCP has said "somethingggg" about anything we could ask about...... its just a matter of implementing it. |

A few EVE expansion ago (PI expansion) they hired an astrophysicist to go through their planets, basically he built a realistic planet attribute generator and that was used to redo all the planets in EVE.
Lots of planets completely changed type and such, in addition they now have proper attributes so if you're close to the star the planets are hot and barren, icy if outside the Goldilocks sone, etc. |

They all have different gravity assigned too. Could be interesting on planets with values very different from earth. Planets at launch will all be earth(temperate type) or mars(barren type) like. Ice and lava where planned to come out in expansion soon after, if I remember right. So the light, temp, gravity, orbit should be earth like for some time, but will eventually have some interesting variants. |

Due to the force of gravity falling by the square of the distance, planets of earth-like density still have pretty close to earth gravity even if they're 3-6 times the mass. |

Search for 'DUST 514: Seeding The Universe' on YouTube on CCP's channel. The presentation was from FanFest 2012 and likely the video referred to in this thread. |

The question on FF was related to planet beacon(place where pilots can warp in with they ships and orbital bombardment districts that are on planet). In eve planets are static. Normally planet orbit should affect pilots that want to bombardment specific district because planet(should) keep moving and they may be not on the right side of it for some amount of time. Pilots could move with the planet like some kind of satellite but that would affect other people in that solarsystem - that want to warp on that beacon - if thay war out and warp in several times they always would end up in different place. And that would affect much more thing to, so CCP instead of dwell on that subject for ages decide to fix this problem by adding district beacon - now each district have it satellite, spot where pilots can warp. |

I can only imagine piloting. You'd basically have to relearn flying in each different environment.
Something that would cause you to just coast lazily on one planet could send you into a screaming death roll on another. >.> |
