fitting a 180mm ref steel plate, 120 ref steel and a 60mm ref steel with two jovian powerplants, and a shield extend and a shield recharge has given me good results.
nano fibre is junk. less health, faster speed, no point. |

Armor tanks survive forge guns pretty well.
I have an armor tank LAV that can take a forge gun shot, run over the forge gunner, then drive away to repair. |

Every single shield tank I have seen has blown up once their precious little shields go away, while im cruising with a good 8k or more under my shields, so what if you can ping my shields away and start picking away at my armor, at least im gonna survive harder and longer under more damage than a shield tanker, I know, Ive been running armor for a while now. I know what works. |

Wtf... Wrong thread I think...
By the way even though armor is better against forge, shield is better in both speed and survivability against the most common AV (swarms). I've seen to many a armor tank running away from swarms and too many a shield tank say "that's cute!".
Shield tanks I believe would be more logical to use but to each their own. |

I've specced into tanks heavily for the past 3 builds. First of all, I have shield hardeners. That means, in a direct 1 v 1, I can take you out easily, as your weapon does 30% less damage, which is a big difference. Also, I may have less overall hull, but I move much faster, I can take Swarms better, and I have regenerating shields. So I last longer over time, and can "tank" damage with my shield hardeners. Not to mention I worry less about PG because of the high slots I have. |

You may have been running armor for a while, but you clearly haven't been running shield at all, so you are not qualified to make comparisons. |
