Hi, I would like to request a splitscreen feature of some kind so me and my brother could play the game online with other players.
We really like DUST, but we only have one ps3, it would be awesome if we could add a controller/player in.
Thank you in advance. |

-1. Game has to cater to lowest denominator. Split screen cuts that floor in half. If it wasn't a console game this would work fine. |

Best recent example I can give of a game with splitscreen on console is Borderlands 2. Try and do the same thing they did with an appropriate art style for DUST (which needs to at least vaguely resemble EVE Online), and it'll look like you're playing the first Unreal game instead of a game on the third-gen Unreal Engine. |

I wouldn't mind if it looked terrible. What I would see would only take up half the screen, so the bad graphics would be less visible. |

How would that even work ? Battle servers are always linked to your account on the EVE cluster. That would mean two simultaneous connections and data flow to one client ? ouch |

I could see this being implemented for PVE situations. This could let people who have never played Dust before get their feet wet. I have to agree with the other -1s though. Implementing this in actual battles could be.... problematic. |

Wouldn't be workable since it's an online game and you have to log in. PS3 nor doubt the upcoming PS4 could handle two log ins on one machine for one. The amount of bandwidth, ram and processing power you'd need for two accounts in PVE or PVP wouldn't feasible. There's no way it could handle it. |

This wouldn't work. No other game allows split screen MMO play. It's not possible with the resources. You need two accounts, two connections, ect.

Is that game online for one? How big is the area of the game itself? Is there seperate maps? How much action is generally going on in each area you go to? |

From what I've read it looks like the max for a match is 10 people? Matches on here are more then that. And in a much bigger area. The main map for Uncharted may be huge. But the size of the map for matches seems way smaller. |

Not going to work.
The UI clutter alone will already cause headaches. Not to mention the fact that CCP's servers doesn't support more than one active avatar per logged-in account. You will have to multi-box to achieve what you want, but even then the PS3's design already prevents that from happening. |

You guys are totally right. Then perhaps a PvE mode or a unranked server? The 2nd player would be a guest just like other games do.
About the UI, how about disabling some of the features when a guest is playing(splitscreen)? Maybe making some things smaller and placing the map in the middle? Or like you can only view the map by pressing a button? (which shows up for both players) The guest doesn't need an avatar or rank or anything like that. Just the same name as the original PSN player.
I see alot of players telling that it's impossible to enable splitscreen online with other players on PS3, I will not advertise here another games, so please research before posting something that embarasses yourself.
Thank you. |

IMHO, The guest idea is the best, and for PvE only, with a special "guest only" suit list? These could be modified by the player who is logged in, but perhaps they lock once the guest logs in? Examples would be skinweave heavy with lvl1 or militia forge/HMG, a scout shotgunner, assault AR&hives, Logi with injector, repair tool and mass driver. They would have no customisation, SP, ISK. They wouldn't be able to call in assets, buy or sell gear, or do anything except point and shoot/rez.
Perhaps a specific system where this fighting takes place?
If we're serious, we need to think about all the bits which we can do away with. I'd love to have split screen, but it's not on the cards yet. An overly simplified version of the game would be fine for this. A few guys I speak to who have stopped playing now have said they just find it too complicated, and they just want to pick from a few decent presets, and go go go. Look at all those old heavy - shock suits people used to use. Curse you CCP all the heavy swarm launcher antics. |

+1. Console game w/o co-op = hard sell to people with more than 1 person on a console.
PS, reading earlier comments, and it seems like a number are coming from people who haven't played FPS games recently. Unreal Tournament has split screen for PS3 (ok, so 5 years ago, but they didn't release code/add this until later), along w/BLOPS. The picture obviously isn't as large as single, but if there are people over there's no way a single-person game is going to be played. |

I was thinking about posting a suggestion about this, but it's BETA and I don't know of one halfway decent console game coming out without split screen. I had just assumed that it was in the works... |

-1 Doesn't sound good. (There is also no "separate server" since we'll be playing on the EVE Server, where all our actions should matter) |

Other games have split screen where two people can be logged in at the same time. Why would you not want that?

No need for server, only an channel for people with guests/splitscreen partners... Even rooms if could make one and select an option to enable guests. |

Splitscreen? Who ever uses that when you can have Simulview.
I'd rather see a fancy feature like that in the game. |
