A tiny group of players incorrectly predicted the demise of Dust 514 last week after games like Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 dramatically reduced the playerbase. While we understand that the casual shooter fan is often enamored with new, shiny, flavor of the week releases, we are still a little concerned with some shrinkage in regards to active players in closed testing. Players should be getting more excited as we inch closer to release, not less. This is a beta unlike any other but steps must be taken to excite closed beta participants a bit more. We're addressing CCP here, as we understand that there are freezing, lag, crashes and other beta issues that are beyond your control and that a new build can't be released every week, but there are still other strategies that can be used to keep people excited to play. The best thing to consider is the ability to change, earlier builds had dominant Heavies, higher health, Swarm Launchers that were Godly against infantry and the weekly SP cap has been widely discussed. As long as the Powers That Be understand that they can keep an open mind to making better decisions Dust 514 is in good hands. Here are a few of the other things we can see being improved.

good read. i think being open to change is important too. sometimes devs need to see bad decisions play out first. we need emotes too. |

I think the decrease in player base is more out of frustration with all the issues relating to dropships, spawn camping, lack of variety in maps and fights, lag spikes and the rumors of hackers ect ect,
Its totally understandable that people want to take a break from it i doubt there gone for good even if it probably would be good if some people stay away from DUST, people will most likly come back at next build and test that then get tired of it again as there will be a new expoit of the month, so far its been swarms, tanks, scouts, dropships, who knows whats next |

Perhaps I'm being a masochist but I'm actually enjoying playing more in the past week then I had in quite some time. I like this game despite its current flaws as obviously many of those of us that are still here do. This has been a rather long and trying build for those of us not in the upper skill echelons of the playerbase and the OP is quite that we need a refresher -hopefully the new version will do so. |

The game is fun but the big bugs get old and only being able to form 4 man squads and not being able to form a team is meh IMHO! CCP needs to open there eyes up to team play not just squad play or corp battles. |

the next big fix for me is spawning. never seen a game where it was this bad. you take too long to materialize, people spawn right on you in ambush and its easy to camp since you spawn in the same spot every time. |
