Most of these promised releases seem more like theory crafting at this point then things we'll be seeing in the next year. |

Rubbish article with 2009 build screenshots. Nothing new and innovative except the link with EvE. Persistence has been done before in FPS. |

agreed but this is the first free console fps. if they keep on top of the updates, they'll keep the fickle crowd coming back when they are done with their "fresh" releases |

BO2 is horrible to begin with. And who cares when the screen shots were takin? What the writer stated is fact, the on incentive, in those games is kdr, in here if you demolish something all that money is gone, the time and effort. Wasted. |

@Free Healing Yes, MAG. It wasn't perfect, the community didn't give a **** so they just left the contract system alone. Persistence wasn't a draw to MAG. Or you could look at AC5 for persistent PvP with locations being won/lost.
@Russ Blops2 is the best CoD since CoD4. You need to perhaps explain why black ops is "horrible" or do you just get horrible scores? |

you say this isn't that innovative yet you don't see why BO2 isn't bad? |

BO2 has done nothing to improve upon its original formula, run, gun, hide, quickscope yaaaaaayyyyyyyy i win. Its appeal is for a younger market that like pretty colors and rattlers. |

Dust will not appeal to everyone, especially at first. Unless, they have somme serious marketing campaigns. But I think as long as ccp delivers its promised then this game will succeed. Because many players are looking for something different. A meaning for each battle...moe customization options....more players for massive gameplay...etc.
No other game will offer what dust will and ccp will eventually get it right if they continue to support it. Plus, as long as eve grows, so will this game. |

people play cod because they know most of their friends have it, and its very easy to pick up and play. dust requires a bit more commitment, and if you're doing a player contract, quitting because you're bored will have serious affects on your reputation. dust is also a bit more of a niche game, what with all the fitting and contracting, and especially so because its ps3 exclusive. and lastly, dust doesn't have a multi-million dollar advertising campaign, so not a whole lot of people are aware of it. |

It's great. Totally different play style to Dust/MAG. I'm still waiting for someone to actually point out what is so bad about blops2. It doesn't need to innovate. They did that with the first black ops. (online split screen was pretty revolutionary tbqh). |

Alright then let's do a comparison of two games you might know halo 4 and black ops 2 , the reason why the halo franchise is way better than the call of duty franchise is because halo always has new things coming too it and it improves with every new release , cod on the other hand doesn't improve or change alot which IMO that black ops 2 falls behind h4 |

people will hate on cod for the same reasons people hate on wow, its popular, and its what everyone's playing. cod's genre of 'low-skill-floor slow-paced arena shooter' is accessable to most people, and generally fun to play with others, and that's the reasoning for its popularity. and after what, like 10 different renditions of it, they've pretty much perfected their gametype.
theres no reason to compare these two games together because they're both trying to do different things, hell even comparing this game to the battlefield series doesn't make sense since in battlefield, your stats are more important than your wins, which is the polar opposite of dust.

Just a side bar here, but something I've thought before.
It's interesting to see how often Dust 514 beta is being compared to New or Up and Coming AAA releases of dynastic/franchise titles. |

you called it right there. lets not forget... this is STILL the beta. there are only about 1000 people on at any time max, with a revolving what... 5-10K keys out? not the millions of games BO2 has already sold. or all of the COD, MOH, Halo... etc games have sold.
when Dust is finally released... heck... when the OPEN beta even starts... word of mouth will spread like wildfire. we haven't seen the final build yet, so even we don't know what greatness lies ahead. i think we have been playing a beta for so long, some (not all, just a small amount) testers have gotten tunnel vision. CCP has a plan. it's a very big ambition at that. i'm sure they'll succeed. by the time the open beta starts... and we are all free from NDA... we can bring in thousands of testers, which will bring in thousands more for the release.
yes, the skill system is a bit complex. sure, noobs will probably get mad when they get killed easily against people who have better equipment. but human tenacity will probably keep the majority playing.
i mean, given my lack of time to dedicate to this game, i'm well behind in SP in comparison to a lot of people. doesn't stop me. i still do ok even with my class II and Gek 38. my play style needed to change a bit that's all. i don't rambo any more. i try to pick and choose my fights. i don't 1 on 1 with advanced/proto suits with Duvallis. like the song goes... "you got to know when to hold 'em. know when to fold 'em. know when to walk away. know when to run." i'm sure the real FPS players will do the same thing, and all the point and shoot rambos will quit. this game needs a more mature player base anyway. given our mission to Eve, this game can't afford people who run into gunfire like moths to a light.

Meanwhile, when you know your friends have dust (or in my case, eve), the opportunities are even greater than just having some friends with CoD |
