So, i've been playing the beta for a few months now. I really like the game. It truly is great and i think it'd be a great addition to the eve universe. As an eve player i'm also excited about integrating the two games together.
But after reading an article in gameinformer magazine a potential problem popped into my head. Maybe this has been addressed. If it has, great.
The game is still in its beta stages. I don't know if it will release in 2012 or not, but it seems like it will be either 2013 or very late 2012. The problem is that the ps3 is very near the end of its cycle. The current console generation only has a year or two left before the next generation comes. Nintendo has already released a new console, and sony and microsoft will launch new consoles in the not-so-far future.
What does that mean for dust? Eve doesnt have to worry about this problem because its platform is the pc. But once the new generation releases will dust become obselete? Do I only have a year or two to reap the benefits of combining these two great games?
If anyone knows any information pertaining to any of this, please fill me in. I like both eve and dust. i dont want to see dust fall within the next couple of years. |

This has been adressed several times now, tough i dont really blame anyone since i personally havent found an official source.
BUT its been said that Dust will run in the next PS Console (PS4/?), how will CCP do this? I dont have the slightest clue, nor when from the release of this new PS console it will be avaliable, be it right off the bat or X months/weeks after.
And on a side note, regarding dust being trasnfered to PC... CCP have already stated several times why they dont plan on doing so...why bring the " it would be better in PC" every single possible time it involves the plataform its being developed comes up, I dont understand. As much as like EVE and KBM for FPS games, its CCP decision. |
