I would like to see a speed bonus applied for fits that put a lighter weapon in a slot. for instance the logi is normally really slow, so if you arm him tih a smg (a side arm) you would be putting it into the light weapon slot. since the smg would be lighter and less cumbersome than light weapons the logi would be able to move faster, trading fire power for movement.
It would be very useful to heavies as well. If one is armed with a light weapon instead of a heavy weapon, they should be able to move and turn faster. the LR and AR are much less cumbersome than and HMG and should be treated as such. again, trading firepower for mobility.
obviously this would need to be balanced out a bit as no one wants to see everyone in a heavy suit with a tac AR but I want to see this happen as it would give people more choice in building a fit and those choices having more meaning. isnt that what this game is all about? |

I believe it's already in place.. I switch between my Main weapon to my SMG and I run faster. |

if it is in effect, i guess it's not really all that noticeable. i've never really seen a difference between having an smg out or a heavy weapon. |

I'm PRETTY sure that, on Scout and Assault suits, there's a noticeable speed difference when your SIdearm is out. It looks and feels that way, although I haven't tested it properly to make sure. I plan to do so, along with testing a few things to see whether the cause is the slot or the weapon type. It would be nice to know if a Sidearm in a Light slot stil slowed you down.
Also, if it works by slot type, you may find that Heavy slots give the same speed as Sidearms, so Heavies don't get any difference in speed from doing this. |
