Finally was able to put my thumb as to why the assault rifle (and any gun for that matter) felt so unnatural.
A.) Recoil is almost non-existent for how many rounds this thing is throwing out. Albeit, I have the skills at level 5, but the point still stands.
B.) Sensitivity isn't lowered when aiming down the sights, making it rather difficult to hone in on a target.
C.) The sound when this build first came out was gorgeous, the power behind it was beautiful. Not sure why (been gone a while) but the sound reverted back to "shooting needles out of a PVC pipe".
Just my thoughts. |

I agree with this recoil is so unnoticable in all guns that it feels dull to shoot a gun and when you combine this with the current firing sound, it doesnt feel like a gun maybe this is to do with the tecnology the AR aint shootin traditional bullets, but i have to remember the way Bad Company 2 did it the guns sounded violent and kicked like mules if you didnt control it right,
i honestly think that ARs are not over powered as such they are just too controlable and hip fire is rediculesly accurate i know alot of people are fond of this hell i most of the time hipe fire now because of how accurate it is in dust but if its holding its own against someone aim down the sights at any range out side of on top of its simply broken, ive often won fights that i never properly should have because i didnt aim down sight at a range i should have the extra mobility makes it difficult for the enemy to hit you yet the are relitivly easy to hit because they are aiming |

Quite the contrary I found the hip-fire to be somewhat lacking in the accuracy department. |

I think AR hipfire is fine, and has room for improvement. The breach variant should definitely get a big hipfire accuracy buff since it sucks at everything else (lower range, lower damage per magazine, lower damage per second, more expensive).
AR's should have recoil though, and they are.

The breach AR may get kittened again. |

I have no problem with recoil being adjusted, I admit it feels a little _TOO_ tight right now (*Snicker*). But what I really really don't want to see is them shove a pretty ****** Cone of Fire on it and call it done. If we're getting recoil, lets get actual recoil! That is muzzle climb and lateral sway. Not bullets wizzing out of the gun at a 45 degree angle inside an imaginary cone. It's a shame a lot of guns have this already, I think, but there uou go! |

Try using a SMG, shotgun, pistol, sniper, orr a HMG. Now say that again |

The guns in this game really need some actual recoil, and not just an expanding cone-of-fire. Pretty much the only reason people complain about ARs is because with no recoil, you can just hold down the trigger and down your target even at medium to long range. |

Why does no one talk about SPREAD.
There is practically no spread for the AR, even at it's maximum range. I don't care about recoil as long as the gun gets less accurate the longer you fire it. |

Recoil, Pfff we are playing in outer space using robotic clones.
Do not give us recoil give us proper damage.
An Assault suit that has an AR - VS - A Fat suit with a HMG
Who wins?
Assault suit that has the AR every time!
I have been on both sides of this duel and have won every time with my AR knowing damn well that the Fat suit with HMG should have won.

Assault Rifles in this game need some serious work. They need to be brought up to at least 2008 level of programming. We are below original Counter Strike level to gun game still at the moment. |

I must admit that most of my hip fire feedback is based on AR its the primary weapon i use versatility is important to me, ive used HMG and haven't found it to be weak at hip fire but i wouldn't expect it to be the HMG is the type of thing you spin up and lead the bullets to the target, ive tried SMG as a side arm for reloads and did notice it was less controllable with hip than a AR which is totally messed up. |

Spread is caused by recoil if a gun has zero recoil and you shoot at a target you will hit target in same spot every time short of body movment of course, a gun has recoil which causes the spread/ cone of fire having no recoil and spread is basicly cutting out the challenge of putting rounds accuratly down range, if cone of fire is only involved then you just have to fire pulses and learn the timing when cone of fire resets |

There are also effects caused by tolerances, thermal expansion bending the barrel, vibrations from earlier shots, ect...
Even a sniper rifle fired indoors that is bolted down will not give perfectly repeated holes, there are still tiny imperfections causing errors. May be close enough to just make the hole oval, but it won't be perfect. It will be a lot closer to the same hole then a hunting rifle or regular infantry rifle in same firing rig. Old musket may not even miss to the same side of the target since the ball would bounce in the barrel.
The expanding reticule with longer bursts and movements is abstraction of many factors, recoil should move the gun in a direction, up in most designs.
About 25% more dispersion on ar would be great, and some barrel rise. This would make the fully trained ar like the current untrained ar for accuracy. |

Finally someone agrees with me.

Not speaking directly to you, but when I think of recoil, I think of the kick of the gun and the way it rises in response, just like in the first quote above. I agree that spread is a result of recoil, but in GAME terms I don't mind if there is no recoil as long as my shots get less accurate the longer I hold the trigger. Even if that means releasing the trigger to fire in bursts, that's exactly how I imagine using an assault rifle anyways.
Anyone remember in Halo: Combat Evolved how they told you to fire in bursts with the assault rifle because if you kept the trigger held it would be less effective from range? That's how I want the assault rifles to feel. I don't enjoy them as super accurate scoped rifles that can slug an entire clip into you from 100 meters away without missing a shot. If they are this accurate, then what's the point of tactical or breach rifles? |
