Please let us deactivate passive SP gain in the character selection menu!
Thanks |

...why?
Is there a reason you would want to NOT have any character gaining SP when you can have it happening? |

You get more SP. When you play more than 5 hours or so well without passive SP gain you get more SP than when you play five hours well with passive SP gain plus the additional passive SP for one day |

Really?
I actually didn't know that. Thanks.
Does it work if you have passive SP on, but attached to a different character? |

I guess it is just linked to one character. |

I tried it out. You get about 120k passive SP but not as much SP in battles as you play without. It has only a usage when you play at least a few hours each day. |

He's pulling your leg. There is no way to shut off passive sp. And if there was CCP may or may not cap the amount per day as active. Would be hard to tell. Figuring in the 1sp/per 4 sec. |

I don't think there should be an SP cap any which way. What's the point of playing if they cap your growth? The passive is good though. I work a lot, so it's nice to know that I'm not seriously devastated by not being able to play as much. |

You COULD test it though. Not perfectly, but decently.
Start off with an account you haven't yet activated passive SP with, and play for several hours, tracking your SP earnings (easy enough, just note down your starting point at subtract from the total at the end of the session.
Spend NONE of the accumulated SP.
Come back the following day (or any amount of time later), turn on passive SP, then play for the same amount of time. Compare totals for each session. |

How do you not activate passive SP? I don't remember there being an option |

You just avoid using the option to activate it, and it doesn't activate until you tell it to.
Once activated, you can't deactivate it. |

I wish Passive SP was on all characters, honestly. Seeing how we're not paying CCP a subscription and can't multi-box like with Eve, I don't really see the point of it being active on just one character. |

I like the passive SP gain, and think it should remain a feature. Maybe balance it a bit, but definitely keep it. |

Obvious fix is obvious.
Still like to see your "data" on this though. I call BS. |

I guess what he's trying to say is that you end up getting more active sp when you're not gaining passive.
The problem with this "theory" is that you only gain 1000 sp per hour, which is 24k sp a day.
Say you have passive sp off at midnight one day and go to sleep. You wake up at 10am and start playing. Because you didn't earn that 10 hours of passive sp (10k sp total) it will appear to give you more rewards from battle before it starts diminishing.
Really, you're just earning that passive xp instead as active sp.
The only advantage to this is that because of the sp cap reset daily, the first match will always give a higher reward because it has not been diminished. So if you only played one or two matches right after the downtime with passive sp off, you;d get more rewards. As you keep playing though, those rewards eventually even out with everyone else. However, if you only played a couple matches a day, this would be the best time and best way to earn the maximum amount of sp. |
