1. "Snipers are OP! Please nerf them!"
- By now we should all know that this is going to happen. We get it. Most, if not all, agree that there needs to be a change.
2. "The player base Dust is dwindling!"
- Why should that surprise anyone? This game is a beta, and three (or is it four?) very popular games are/about to be released. That's basic economics... I promise you I'll be playing Black Ops 2 for a while, taking time away from Dust (but eventually, that game will get just as boring as the last, and I'll be right back to Dust).
3. "This game sucks!"
- That's a nice opinion you have there, why are you still playing?
4. "There are too many bugs, this game sucks! Why haven't you fixed the problems yet CCP???"
- Notice the difference between this one and the previous (A reason explaining why this game sucks). Before I state the obvious, I would like to know how many Dust players are programmers? I would be willing to bet that anyone who has made a statement similar to this has never EVEN SEEN a line of code. For those of you that fall into this category, here's what I want you to do: Go download Microsoft C# Express and the XNA framework ( I chose these as my example because that is currently what I'm using, and for any beginner programmer It's pretty simple) and start programming your own game. When writing any program, game or not, you run into bugs or features that cannot simply be added or fixed by changing a value of one variable. And even if it can, it's sometimes hard to find that ONE variable.
On top of all that, CCP is creating Dust with UDK (Unreal Engine). Anyone ever used that? It's got a sick learning curve. And the logic used in UDK isn't even a real programming language (Unreal Script).
All of this is a moot point, anyways. CCP doesn't have to hand out excuses for "taking too long". Frankly, they don't have to tell YOU anything. YOU signed up for a beta. YOU have the privilege to TEST (by playing). To CCP, this in no more about a fun game and maintaining a player base right now. You know why? Because it's not done. And given the history of CCP, this game will never be done. Not to them. Even after release, it will only grow.
To some all of this up: Be patient, or leave. This beta is not about you. It's about creating a game.
