Why get mad? It is your fault that you got out of the tank or got squished by the tank in the first place. You know in a couple of weeks we are gonna get a reset and its back to square one again.
Last night we had red lined some doods. I saw this dude who had parked his starter fit LAV and was shooting up the the MCC. Since I didnt feel like calling my LAVs I decided to take it for a joy ride and we crashed into a tank. Boom! We both get killed. I enjoyed the lolz but he sent me hate mails. Just because I stole his starter LAV and it crashed into a tank that was backing up.

I for one don't enjoy when other people waste my time, and if you mess with my stuff without my permission then i have to spawn in get a new one and begin a new. Once again, don't waste other peoples time. Its just as easy to be respectful and not steal a vehicle as it is to jump in and be a D. |

Well... In the future it won't be problem as you're most likely going into contract battles with people you know or otherwise are co-operationg well.
But, for public matches or instant action games (which are promised) locking would be good.
Now a story: Once in line harvest, not being able to get a squad mate as gunner at that time, I was doing hit'n'run tactics with my saga by shooting at fair distance 4-5 missiles and then hopping into drivers seat and changing position.
Well, it so happened that a nice blue gentleman took the wheel and stuck pedal to the metal and drove straigth into the hottest red blob, crashing into a wall blowing saga and also killing me.
Still feeling a strange combination of being annoyed and amused at the same time. |

HAV cost 1million ISK and up, is not to hard to figure out why people don't enjoy scrubs stealing them. |

Because you're getting a free ride out of the stuff we've worked hard to get and afford. Scrubs are constantly stealing other players vehicles and then being complete dicks when they use it. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if the people who took my Dropships/HAVs were actually useful with them, instead they'll use the Dropship to try and crush a Forge Gunner or ride the HAV into a wall, repeatedly. |

forgot to mention there is also a slight delay before random blue dots can get in your vehicle.if you dont get in it before the blue dots are allowed then it is your own fault for being too slow |

The problem we have here is the result of player negligence. Let me elaborate.
CCP has currently setup the vehicles in a way that is reminiscent of Eve Online in terms of vehicle/ship ownership.
In Eve Online, if the ship is in space, ownership of the vessel belongs to whoever boards the ship. If the ship is in a hangar, then that ship belongs to whoever that hangar is controlled by. The space part allows for some very interesting things such as that one moron who decided to mine with both an Orca and a Hulk in an isolated system but without an alt account to control both ships at once. Thus the moron decided to just leave the Orca unpiloted while piloting the Hulk and mining in peace. He would then unboard his Hulk and board the Orca to scoop up the canned ore. Unfortunately for this moron, a roaming pilot stumbled upon his operation and decided to ditch his frigate and board the Orca (valued at over 400 million ISK for the hull alone) and warped away leaving the moronic Hulk pilot wondering what happened.
In Dust 514, we have the same thing going on right now. Every time you get off the driver seat, you accept the risk that someone will jump in and take control of the vehicle without having to ask you for permission. If you are using a free LAV that you get anyways, what's the problem? You didn't pay for it so why care if someone stole it? Now, if it was your 2 million ISK tank, then I would never get off that driver seat until the match is over or until I get destroyed, whichever comes first.
Here is my point.
It's our responsibility as individual mercs in Dust 514 to be careful of how we use our vehicles if they are expensive and you paid ISK/AUR for it. You accept the risk of having your vehicle jacked for every second you are not on the driver seat. If you need a gunner, simply ask someone or just park next to them and see if they want a ride. There is currently no shortage of gunners.
Whenever I get out of my car in the middle of a city, I run the risk of having my vehicle stolen. Of course in the real world people have keys that are needed to operate the cars but the real world also includes certain people who don't need keys by simply hot wiring a car and driving off or, if they are resourceful enough, can manage to get a duplicate of your key and simply get into your vehicle without much effort depending on the make and model of your car. |

I'm a terrible driver anyway. If you're lucky, and I'm actually still near where I ditched it, you might even get a gunner. |

This actually reminds me a fight i had one time with this dude. He was in a tank and i managed to hit him enough for the tank to be left with just a little bit of health. Then i see him leave and start shooting at me and i knew i could finish off the tank but i shift to him, kill him, hack his tank and drive off repairing it. Felt good. |

I wouldn't mind this if I had the ability to pick up a proto gears rifle if I killed him, or the ability to shoot a random friendly who was running after my vehicle trying to get in, or evict a player from the gun to let my teammate get in. |

If there was a owner status recorded, that let the owner change seats to occupied positions and enter their vehicle even if full by kicking somebody else out. It would be fine. Maybe a lock that can be hacked, so if you leave your tank and somebody hacks it tough they own it now. This would still let friendlies use gear left by players that died out of there vehicle. |
