I'd be surprised if this hasn't been asked before.
Would it be okay if, once the clones have run out, the surviving players can at least have a fighting chance rather then an instant fail? There have been cases where good players have captured all the points and are about to win, only to be failed because one squad kept getting itself killed throughout the entire match.
While I'm sure a headhunt could be tedious, I've yet to encounter a situation where a player is totally unreachable from his enemies. If there is, then maybe conditions can change?
- Winning team can enter the losing team's spawn point.
- Members of the losing team become visible on rader.
- If all else fails, the match time cuts very short.

It is this way, blue dots just like to spawn in.
Because when you die you don't lose a clone, it is when you spawn in that the clone is used. So if nobody spawned in you could go to the last man standing.
Don't blame the game mechanics, blame the crappy team mates. |

Problem there is people are actively told to spawn or get kicked out, so many will spawn as soon as possible to avoid losing their end-of-battle isk/sp. That and even in the most organised of Eve fleets, there always someone who lemmings and generally don't listen to the FC, so what chance do you have in Dust, where you're just a squad in a randomly selected team?
Maybe if people who died a lot had to wait longer each time, it wouldn't be so bad. Would still rather have a shot at winning with no clones then flatout lose a battle though. |

This would be good in ambush. At soon as the clone count hits a certain amount relating to a.) how many are still alive and b.) how many are needing to spawn in, they could make it so no 1 can spawn in. Then the battle ends when the last person alive for a team is killed. Example: 4 clones left. 6 people alive at the time. 6 people dead waiting to spawn. This system would only let 4 people spawn. Although it would take forever to find said People alive...
Perhaps a time limit? Like the normal 15 minutes but after clone count reaches a number( described above) for a team, the time resets to 3 minutes? Team with most clones alive at end of 3 min win
Of course this situation of last man standing will not be implemented if clone difference is 10 or greater.
It would make close matches even closer with your team cheering you on lol. |

People will not loss their end-of-battle isk/sp. CCP introduced a mechanic a few weeks back(I think) that if you get disconnected or have to leave a game before the end then you still get your SP and ISK share.
As to last man standing, maybe if it's an option to be agreed between teams at the start. I wouldn't like it myself as it would drag out the game, but, it would give the potential for some amazing comebacks. |
