Im playing black ops2 for sure, might be boring after a few weeks so ill be ready for the next build ;)
Just need CCP to work their azz off and get this Dust514 game all crispy like.. sp reset is going to be hard this next time. I dont know how much more I can take. |

Player count always dwindles during the last two weeks of every build. Then those number repeatedly shoot back up as soon as the new build arrives. It will rinse and repeat until the game is released. |

Now that's a proper large scale team objective based shooter that is actually fit for purpose.

It's perfectly reasonable to expect that "hundreds of thousands of people" have played in the beta.
It's NOT sensible at all to assume all of them are still active now, or even that all of them have been simultaneously active at any point during the beta.
You can't use that non-specific figure (which doesn't even confirm that many have played the beta, it may only be an indication of how many people have registered interest) as if it's relevant to the current state of the playerbase.
What I can say is that I can personally account for there being more than 100 simultaneous players at a time during off-peak hours for both US and EU regions, which covers a pretty large portion of the game's target market. One player corp with 10 members active, and two different NPC corps, one with just over 40 active members and the other with almost 60.
That doesn't support anyone claiming "hundreds of thousands" of ACTIVE players in the beta, but it makes thousands look like a totally reasonable low-end estimate, and suggests tens of thousands as a reasonable possibility to consider. Particularly when you take into account how small a sample size I'm looking at. A SINGLE player-run corp out of how many? And only 2 samples out of the significant number of NPC corporations, |

The game numbers keep dropping because this game has no clue what audience it wants.
It doesn't want the BF3 crowd by making arcadish gun play and graphics
It doesn't want the COD crowd by making the game play slow paced spending half the game in menus
It doesn't want the MAG crowd because it will not increase its player counts passed 64 players if it does increase at all. Game modes are basic and bland open fields.
This goes for Killzone,Crysis,and Farcry and knowing that without balance all these types of games fail.
On the other side
It doesn't want World of warcraft players or other MMO`s because the game is not social/ explore enough and to fast past for them. They don't understand why another player is shooting at them with out consenting in a Arena zone. These games don't usually care about balance because they like loot, hoarding , and im the coolest cause i have the most crap.
Next you have the Eve players who don't want Dust to effect Eve at all. So they fight tooth and nail to either make Dust useless or keep it so much of a Eve mirror that they will feel safe in their Nullsec. I have a feeling that if CCP said Dust wont connect to Eve ,non of them would even care about this game. This crowd is alienating every other player in this beta slowly while other games are being released around this beta. |
