I started playing Dust about a month ago...and geeez, was it laborious. Running around in rubbish gear, getting owned by any enemy who only had to glance in my direction.
But now after some hard slogging, I've got some decent equipment, gotten better with aiming, and now I feel I'm actually beginning to have a positive influence on the battlefield.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a slog to keep earning those SP points to continue on the skills path I've chosen, but now that I'm usually in the top half of the leaderboard after most matches, it's really quite fun.
So to all those people starting out, perservere! It will eventually become fun.
My only hope now is that CCP make the graphics better. I can live with most of the other bugs as I just see them as trivial.
Oh...and I also hope CCP come up with a skirmish game where Snipers aren't allowed ;o) |

I couldn't agree more.
it's nice when you hit that silver line huh! :D I remember when I finally got a decent smg and armour rep with my heavy forge gunner, I really noticed a difference, the grind really does make you think you aren't as good as you should be (admittedly that's kinda obvious)
I find it a bit of a learning curve: what makes you more effective in the match with the available sp. This build I kinda messed up, originally choosing shotgun scout (probably one of the most useless corp specs in the game but good for pub matches)
switched to heavy forge and I think that's where I'm gonna stay. |
