Why can't blueberries take objectives? Join a match where they are redlined, break out of redline and place drop uplinks which they dont use, eventually take an objective and they cant even hold it so its either help them hold or attempt to take another with not much chance of success, blueberries need gun game. |

I wish I understood psychology more. Nothing in college explains how a person can be so utterly dumb. There's 4 of us comin' on 5 guys, 2 of them are my squad mate, one blue berry. We get into a straight gun match, blueberry dies instantly, so me and mates trade round with Betamax squad. The blue berry revives BEHIND them, then runs in front of them, then starts shooting. Die almost instantly. Revives a third time, again behind, but at a distance where AR can hit, but won't do much. He begins firing anyways instead of sneaking up to make his AR more effective. Dies to a laser. Revives a FOURTH TIME, runs around with us after the engagement ends, we get fire from behind, we all turn around, he keeps running forward. Dies to a LAV. The last time I saw him that match he took out a HMG heavy, from behind, I almost cried in tears, he even hacked a lone LAV. Then crashed it into an ally LAV, killing him and our allies.

It's all Brownian motion for random blue dots. There are no tactics or strategy. It's Mercenary Team Deathmatch for Ambush or Skirmish. |

Ive played a lot of games(PC and console) and I have to say DUST randoms(blueberries whatever) are probably the worst ive seen in any game, i dont know if its cause DUST is more complicated than other FPS or what but it is very annoying. Ive died many times where im hacking and theres 5+ blue dots around me watching the guy kill me.
Either way yes, very frustrating. |

If you've played the likes of other shooters within the last few years, it seems as though the jump in popularity coupled with people's desire to go lone wolfing makes for public matches that are pitiful at best. Pubbies have little to no desire to want to act as a team because of lone-wolf mentalities.
So to go along with Mr Baracka Flocka, yes, extremely frustrating. |

I think this will die down soon. Most of those 'blueberries' as you call em will be the new EVE players from the last weekend right?
Give 'em a week to learn the ropes and they'll be fine. I admit though, it really don't stop it being THE most frustrating thing about Dust right now for me. Inept team-mates.
Then we'll get this all over again when the game goes into open Beta :D |

One problem is that hacking objectives back from the enemy doesn't give you WP. This causes many players to wait for an objective to get capped so that they can collect WP by hacking it after. This of course lets the enemy spawn around you and for your side to lose a little edge.
What is worse are the fools playing Skirmish to get a bunch of kills. They will not take on objective just so they can spawn camp around it and not care if they lose as long as they have a good K/D |

In pub matches you are on your own unless squaded up, think of the fellow blueberry as only somewhat friendly.
They run the other way when the shooting starts. And never hack anything they are close too. Cracks me up.
I have been shooting the remote explosives under them when they finally do hack. I'm probably not helping things |

lol, you really are only as good as your team lets you be. I almost find this to be a rock paper scissor sort of match up depending how people are spec, cept vehicles are like a nuclear bomb and there's tons of roach spray.
I'm very lucky to be in Zion, very. Not only is there usually always a squad being formed, we're on friendly terms with almost everyone, so I can just jump around channels and just join whoever.

I am not sure what is going on either. Tons of times I've been killed by a lone gunmen while surrounded by smurfs who also die without firing a shot. Tons of times I've seen an objective being defended by half a dozen smurfs and although none of them die, the objective they are defending gets fully hacked. Several times I've had a smurf still my LAV after it dropped and when I get in, they refuse to drive. And several times I've been pushed off of objectives I'm hacking FOR THE TEAM by a smurf. WHY?!? I have played in alot of online FPSs and never seen this amount of jackassory before. That is why I primarily play guerilla tactics when playing outside of a preformed squad; I do my own thing where I do not openly help but do not hinder either. It's sad but that's what it's come to. That's why I formed my small corp channel; to get full squads of people who actually want to play. I still play guerilla from time to time but I do it alot less since I can find decent players to squad with. The Merc Squadron Deployment channel is pretty good too. |

On the blueberries :P
Also, I'm sometimes one of the people you guys complain about. But more often I'm the "oh good, you're only MOSTLY incompetent, instead of COMPLETELY useless like the rest of the team" blueberry. |

As of right now objectives are pretty much death traps and what you see is the reaction to this since people feel im in a public match who cares im not wasting gear or kdr for this.
Ice skating ring floors at the objective 10 second respawns at the most when hacking takes 30 35 seconds think about that math. Hit detection near or in the objective is horrible Player tracking is awful in this beta, its like fighting night crawler in Xmen sometimes. The radar is useless in Dust, cant tell me when someone is breathing on me but locate someone across the map behind a building.
I think the hardest part of adjusting to Dust is that bullets magically disappear and you really have no clue when to start firing at someone. Even after 2 months with lvl 4 distance I shoot at a person i think is close since i can see his whole body and just magically have 10 shots disappear for no reason.
there is no Kick function in the game so people just get frustrated and give up and do what they want. Plus dust requires blob tactics to do anything because of the imbalance of gear you sometimes need ratios of 3 to 1 to take a player out. So if you get a squad of 4 members with high gear it takes 12 players to keep them contained. |

-Hmmmm, some of you guys should give directions in chat.
In all my games nobody has spoken 1 time- I certainly would like some direction, a clue as to what strategy we are using etc. Even when I end up on a team with five or six guys who are in a Corp (and are working together and obviously communicating) it doesn't help if you are on a private channel.
-Seriously, the strategic opportunities in this game are amazing but that doesnt work if nobody talks or gives any direction. And us Noobs certainly are in no position to start giving orders and trying to form group tactics while we are learning the game. |

Unfortunately, it is not simple as taking charge most of the time as you need people willing to listen and follow through for those orders to mean anything. For me, it's not worth the time and/or risk to deal with randoms in my squad any more. My best advice to you, Eppenguar Magus, is if you're a team player (or want to at least attempt it) with a mic, join a player made corp. Player made corps fight to win and fight for stats. Also, there are channels posted in the recruiting board to get squads filled with competent players regardless of corp. |

The issue of gamers that don't understand squad mechanics is prevalent in most FPS as we all know, I for one will always try to win a match for the team not for myself, it always feels hard however when it seems you are the only one playing that way!
I haven't been on as much as I'd like and as yet still have to apply to a corp (couple i'm thinking of), and look forward to the day I can play with likeminded team players. I also don't mind playing with 'randoms' when they all have a team brain in!! |

Think of blue dots as AI players. That's what I'm doing atm. I mean, you ever play a game where there's A.I occasionally on a level (Tomb Raider, Army Men, Siphon Filter), that can be really useful if they stay alive? That's how I view my teammates, keep them alive and they might be helpful (as cannon fodder or occasionally killing the right enemy) |

Randoms have always, and will always, suck. This best thing you can do is join a corp and/or play with friends.
There is nothing that can be done about sucky players. |
