Not sure if this has been discussed. I had an idea, granted with its downsides, that you should be able to 'search' a dead red dot body to pick up a few rounds - say half a clip of AR rounds just so that you are not completely dependent on nano hives since some maps don't have Resupply points. Also, if you are in a game with randoms and you just want to have a dumb shooting match, chances are you cannot rely on hives as few ppl in random matches drop them for you.
I know you are gonna say that this would nerf nanohives but think about how picking up just a few extra rounds of ammo would be balanced because you would have to get them from a dead body that in most circumstances would involve getting around other enemies. Anyway, what do you think? |

Searching fallen bodies that haven't bled out yet to steal some of their ammo would be funny. But I think after u died it wouldn't work cus nanites eat dead bodies to fast. |

Interesting idea though, goes along with in-combat salvage ideas thrown out but more direct benefit while still in battle. |

Well that's the easier solution, just add more resupply points.

I wish we could salvage what we kill. Thats what i thought is would be like coming into this game. Even if it's broken or unusable stuff it would be nice to stock up on stuff like that and sell the material to people who could fix it or scarp it for parts. But no, it just turns to DustGäó. |

Tbqh, that's exactly what I thought as well, and it seemed like that's what was described when "salvage" was explained.

If you think about it, weapons are most of what we pick up as salvage, as well as vehicles, so it would appear that the auto-incinerate function of the suit applies only to the suit and not to our equipment. Searching bodies for ammo is sometimes a component of real-life warfare, and since it carries the risk of getting shot in Dust just like in reality, I think it'd be a really cool addition.
Also, nerfing Logi? Really? Half the Assault players I play with carry their own nanohives, and the Type-II series Logi suits only have two slots anyway. Carry an Injector and Repair Tool, and just make do until they put WP for repair actions back in. That removal wasn't permanent. |

Paran is right though, adding something like this would take away from the element of relying on logi support. They'd make fewer points from ammo drops if everyone's already restocking ammo from clone corpses.
I don't play a logi, I play a heavy, but I want to see my logi bros get more ways to make WP and really demonstrate what kind of contribution they can make in support. |

Logis primarily arnt the best suit for injectors. Its best to have your assaults running with injectors (they are faster) while logi has all of the armor rep and ammo. Also, if your logi goes down, and noone else has an injector, then you're doubly ******. |

+1. this is smart, though i guess people just use nano hive so they can keep chuck'en grenades. wait... hive + flux = anti shield tank class! take notes people. |

As a good logi, who normally has a hive up 90% of the match I would say this isn't necessary..
What we need is to be able to find hives on the Down button "map" or at least make the range they show up to team mates further, because 9/10 there is a hive up but you just can't see it. Another is location VOIP so I can at least let everyone know in the vicinity there is a hive down..
So the dilema i have at present is whether to put it in plain sight so everyone can see it / destroy it. Or hide it so no-one can see it / destroy it.
Quite counter-intuitive...

This got me thinking. If you we're able to loot bodies it would have the potential of creating a large imbalance with heavies. Since heavies have no equipment slot we have to depend on teammates for ammo. If you could loot enemies I think it would need to be done with a tool that takes an equipment slot. This tool would be almost exactly like a nanite injector except instead of reviving teammates it would bleed out enemies instantly and give the user ammo and maybe even health for high end versions. Think of it as a nanite absorber. |
