I practiced with the scrambler pistol every now and then and I find it rather difficult to use. Without the proper skill book and the actual skills that come with experience, my pistol is best used as a melee weapon. I don't find it OP.
As for where the line is drawn for what is considered OP, that is subjective and thus varies in opinion from one merc to another. Therefore I am in no position to debate with you where that line is drawn. |

Just think about it. In many other FPS, a typical pistol can 3-4shot you, and has under 10 rounds. The typical AR or LMG in said FPS can usually 4-6 shot you. Pistol is only slightly stronger, and has much less ammo capacity in the mag/drum/etc. This makes it a good BACKUP weapon. (what you would expect a sidearm to be)
In this game, the pistol has similar ammo capacity as other FPS, BUT, it does double and almost TRIPLE the damage that ARs and LMGs do. (depending on pistol) This takes it out of the realm of being a back up weapon, and makes it a viable main weapon.
I'm gonna have to agree to disagree.
As I pointed out earlier, as well we several others here in this thread, the pistol not only requires more SP to be deadly in any way it also requires actual player skill that comes with experience to make the most of it. It's like my Nova Knife only it has range. |

if profile skills actually worked i can see that happening. right now profile is far from an actual useful skill. all someone has to do is hop in a vehicle and look around and they will see you. or if a sniper looks around at the specks on the map they will be spotted for everyone to kill.
That's why I posted a comment on my diary asking CCP to look into the shadow rendering issue. Even though I could have posted it on the feedback thread, my diaries were actually grabbing CCP's attention so it made sense to post it there. |
