I've tried joining a game three times now, and every time it stops searching and telling me that I cannot join a game because I'm a member of a squad and not the leader.
I'm not in any squad.
The fourth try, after a 5 minute wait to log in to here and type this up was successful.
** EDIT **
The fifth attempt resulted in the following error:

I've had this happen a few times. The only way that I could get out of it was to Quit / Restart the game. |

yeah this happened to me too.... I was able to leave the squad after leaving my merc afk in his chamber for about 30 minutes but when I joined next game I lagged out and got booted back to my merc quarters and at that point i simply turned off my ps3 :/ |

I have this happening on me when I go to select SKIRMISH and then cancel if I wait to long and then going to the L1 screen and back to selecting a Battle "SKIRMISH" It happened again and that's what I did to get out of it. THIS SHOULD BE STICKIED FOR FURTHER REFERENCE |

Just happened again, I couldn't leave the squad like I mentioned above. Guessing it doesn't work all the time. Restarted! |

yeah that happened to me also
i tried leaving leaving squad and i t would let me leave squad... tried going into a game wouldnt work.
it CAN also happen when you ARE squad leader but not in game. AKA a squad it forced you to Auto join from a game you had already played. tried leavinf squad... didnt work, tried giving leadership didnt work tried quitting squad after giving leadership... didnt work... went to XMB and restarted dust |

I get this every third to fifth fight. Restart is required. I have yet to find a solid work around |

I have had the same problem. Although it seems to happen whenever I open the chat menu for any reason. I can play as many matches as I want, but the second I press select it puts me in a squad and I cannot join any more games. I tried leaving the squad but it tells me "Player cannot be found". This makes the chat function almost unusable, and very irritating. I hope this is a high priority for the Devs as it is the only major problem I've run into. |

Usually when I get these errors, I restart the game. I just know that even IF I get back in a game, it's bugged.
It happens often.
My best guess is that for some odd reason, it looses track of where I am in the game and just can not recover.

I get the same error fairly regularly. One slight difference is that when I try to leave the squad I get an error that states "the squad doesn't exist." Same as everyone else, have to shutdown and restart the game to clear this problem. |
