That story has seen the most mixed comments sections of stories this year. There's one group that's certain Star Wars will die, another citing the Avengers to say that it's going to work, and a third that says it can't get any worse than ep. 1-3.
Honestly, Disney and Lucasfilm were likely in talks ever since the Star Tours / Indiana Jones rides opened. I find particular interest in the fact that the "price" was almost the exact same as the Marvel purchase.
Me? I'm intrigued by the whole deal. It'll be interesting to finally see the Expanded Universe on film, and Disney is rather consistent as far as moviemakers go. As GameInformer put it, we might just see Battlefront 3 made reality! |

EP 1-3 were ******* awful tbh and EP4-6 were fantastic but i wish overall the films were darker and not filled with crappy kids characters
That said EP7 could just make it all worse, if they try to do an entire reboot which is unlikely it will fail hard, if they do a number of crappy sequels for money it could be hit n miss more miss tho, they might try to do animated trilogy instead or even go as far as doing a disney version with disney charas in place
Best bet is to leave it as it is and let it die unless they can do a reboot like Star Trek had |

First you made Han Solo shoot first and then changed it so that he shot last but somehow didn't get hit at point blank, then you added Anakin Skywalker as an additional spirit in episode 6, then you went ahead and milked the saga with endless rereleases of the same episodes and now you sold out to Disney. **** you. |

At first I was skeptical as to whether or not Disney can pull off something quality with the Star Wars Franchise. However, as someone else pointed out, they did a good job with the Avengers.
Who knows, maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised by the amount of quality? One can only hope. |
