Strafe speed up, hit detection failures increase. I want strafe speed up, but I want hit detection to work. If hit detection isn't addressed I won't be playing this game. This isn't a threat and a QQ; hit detection is a fundamental aspect of any good shooter. If it doesn't work correctly a game is, fundamentally, a p.o.s.
I love DUST and I'm convinced it will be a great game on release but right now I'm not having fun with this game because of this problem. Anyway, this is a thread to see if I'm the only one having this issue? I've literally emptied a clip into a scout standing still with his back to me. Result? A couple ticks of his shields and a whole lot of fireworks as his shields lit up and took two hits. Two hits from a full AR clip in the back. This isn't a solitary thing. It's also quite random. I fought him again, dancing around in circles, making it difficult to kill him, and got maybe 2 hit detection errors, but killed him in three seconds flat because the majority of rounds registered.
Le sigh. I'm taking a day off tomorrow, I think. Got a paper on how multinational companies are the new colonial powers to do anyway. Later, peeps. |

1 part skinny female characters, 1 part latency, and 1 part bouncing around over terrain/allies. The scout is the only suit which feels a reasonable speed now. Imho all suit types should still move, strafe and turn faster. ALL of them. |

I don't care if the hit boxes are the same. My target is smaller :p And I've not seen confirmation from CCP that the little girls don't have little hitboxes.
Edit: if they do actually have smaller hit boxes then CCP should give up with FPS .... |

dropsuits need to be sped up.
they all feel slow and clunky. meanwhile a tank can move across the map before it takes you time to reload.
make snipers work for their kills when they aren't hitting fridges on skates. |

I actually fired 2 rounds of forge gun point blank into a stationary scout and missed. I switched to smg and continued - missed as well. I put it down to lag. |

make snipers work for their kills when they aren't hitting fridges on skates. Wolfman confirmed for us that there have been no speed changes other than to strafe since before Replication. The feeling of slowness is animation related, and they're polishing that for next build.
The current hit detection issues are a result of a memory leak in the blowing-dust effect, and that is being worked on as well. More of you guys should set up IRC. There's 5 CCP in here right now. |

Iv had this its not lag. Was sniping, granted I'm a crap sniper, BUT an assault or scout was standing still, put 4 rounds into them in different locations to no avail, they then moved like 2 ft, tried again got the hit. He then moved back to where he was originally standing and was invulnerable again. Don't know if it was the angle he was standing at or what, but where/the way he was standing made him impossible to hit from my location

Maybe CCP should gtfo of IRC and onto the forums then. IRC was not a requirement of this beta. It's quite clear though it should have been.
The ps3 community at large do not use IRC. |

Yeah, it's back. Sucks tbh. Last couple of days have emptied a killswitch clip into peeps to little effect. Ditto for the HMG.
Hit detection is STILL priority # 1 CCP. |

We've asked on the forums before about quantified strafe & sensitivity and never heard. For this info to be thrown out on IRC pisses me off. Why should I waste my time here?
Iron wolf is one of the few people who puts IRC info onto the forums, and he has my honest thanks for it. He shouldn't have to though. |

hit detection is still screwed. can't tell you how many sniper shots should of killed. also with everyone running around as heavies it's no surprised that when they increased strafe speed a bit they can now dodge the heavies with their i win button. |

Rumor or not it makes sense that people would think this about the femail suits since they actually look smaller. This means that at times you are trying to adjust your aim to "hit" a target your already hitting because it looks like your missing them since they look smaller. I agree with Tony though. If the hitboxes are actually smaller then CCP has completely failed in the logic department for the FPS genre of games.
