ATM IMHO driving a LAV in game feels less like driving a four wheeled vehicle, and more like a block sliding across ice.
The slightest bump in the road can make you spin around in a circle. Even just a tight turn can make the vehicle spin in a circle without the feeling that you are power-sliding or have any traction with the ground.
OK, so maybe the physics model for 'car' in the Unreal engine is really simple perhaps (i have no idea), maybe to help reduce server load or calculations, or whatever. BUT I'd really love if there was at least more sense of traction on the ground when driving.
The way the cars drive right now would be PERFECT for an ice planet, but seems very odd for rock and dirt planets.
My request would be to either:
1) improve the driving to have more traction on the rocky/dirt planets, keep it like it is for any ice planets maps. or 2) add a skill "LAV Driver" or something, that increases traction so you aren't just sliding around all the time.
BONUS: very low importance request--> whenever a LAV is spinning out or taking a tight turn, it would be cool to see a dust cloud get kicked up by the back wheels. We get smoke clouds for explosions and dust kicks for 'bullet' impacts, why not dust for the vehicle sliding or spinning out at high speed? - If it is too much for the graphics engine to handle and maintain reasonable FPS, it would be pretty ironic that Dust is one thing that Dust514 cannot provide lol.

+1 that something needs to be done about LAV driving, I'm not a F1 driver but I still can steer my real car better on ice then the LAV on a dirt road. |

+1 I'll bump this.
I'm no STIG, but I can drive a vehicle to save my life and I feel sorry for those who get into my LAV. Therefore the meter is never on in my LAV. |
