I suggest a new dropsuit module that allows a merc to instantly teleport to a friendly spawn point. I'm sure we have all run into times where your down to a sliver of health with 3 guys closing in and you just need to get out of there to recover.
It could also be closely used for teamwork with a teammate running behind lines putting an uplink up and your squad can all recall to the location or even recall to a point that needs defending quickly. I could see it having a pretty good cool down of like a minute for the low end ones and lower for the more advanced. |

I love the idea of teleportation, and things similar to superpowers in general. I'm not sure this is the best way to implement it in the game though. Seems like it could be easier to have the ability tied to a special module. It should not be usable if shields are damaged, this will prevent people from abusing it as a way to never die by backing out of gunfights. It would be much more team-based if the module could act as a drop uplink to let squadmates spawn on you. There would need to be special limitations on when squadmates can spawn on you, and how many, or else it could make regular drop uplinks useless.

Teleportation is not a thing that exists in Eve. You can fold space but the drive for that is so big it needs a capital ship to fit it. |

Wormholes exist, which are functionally the same thing. The drop uplinks are actually wormholes according to the item description. |

I think its the same concept of the uplink but in reverse. I would think It would not require a lot of game mechanic changes. Your are just teleporting from anywhere to either a null cannon, friendly uplink or mcc. |

Or, as I just suggested in another thread, why not just make an instant-spawn drop uplink? certainly it would have limitations, like one spawn per player, per squad, or some such thing, but it would make hot-dropping in dust a reality, and that is truly what I want. |

In operation, they're more similar to a cynosural field, basically providing a beacon for a jump portal, the same way as any ship in EVE can use one of those. Its an extreme miniaturization of the technology. |

I say no. If you have this you will never be able to take an objective from the enemy as they will just teleport a full squad onto you.
And I don't like the "get out of jail free" way of escaping a firefight. You got yourself into it, so get yourself out. Or die trying. |

wait so you hit a button and poof to some other location?
im all for this idea with one caveat:
as long as it teleports all of you back to cod, no problem.

ps i think we are getting close to the event horizon for "now i've seen it all". |
