The aim in this game is so dry. If you perchance to run into a straggler, don't do it. Strafing while firing = failure. When you shoot someone, they can just bunny hop away. Really? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Make aiming actually feel....like aiming for once. Oh, btw, who thought it was a good idea for bullet damage to decrease at distance? Almost all of the boards are long range, which makes the damage equivalent to a gun firing bb pellets vs. a ballistic vest. The guns need to keep even power, sensitivity needs to be fixed, and AIM ASSIST NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!! The only time it works is when you look at a dead body OR when you look at an unassaulted enemy objective. WERE IN SPACE THINGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIT ANYTHING WITHIN 500 METERS ACCURATELY!!!! |

aiming while strafing SHOULD be ****, try running sideways and shooting a gun at anything more than 10ft away and you will understand :P and i dunno what ur problem is with aim assistance, Ive had it off and didn't even know about it till just now, so u could just turn it off (its off by default) |

The less powerful at distance is probably only on these plasma based weapons which makes sense. Aim assist is ********. Shouldn't have it in the game in the first place. Aiming with an analog stick is always going to suck. Not like I'll buy the nunchucks or anything.
I liked the previous build's assault rifle mechanics. Running and gunning wasn't the way to go then. I had to crouch and remain stationary to be accurate on full auto. That's how the game should work. Just like ArmA. |

i feel that, using the sub machine gun at any relatable distance because the swarms don't do anything to drop suits is a death sentence.
i end up having to run away or wait until i get the drop on someone because if they are more than 5 meters away i might as well be blowing them a kiss with the bullets. |

How about just turning aim assist completely off? Then you would see who can actually play and see who needs a crutch. I am biased though, as I had always been a PC FPS guy before Dust and BF3 |

Aim assist? What is this thing you speak of?
Seriously... I never use aim assist. I don't do as well as the no-lifers, but I never use it. Perhaps I should. Nah. |

The sharpshooting skills really help. I had the sidearm sharpshooting proficiency skill at level 3 in the last build with a proto SMG and was killing people at a fair distance. |

Aim is great, just takes time to get good at it.. its a skill you pick up after some time. They were playing with the x y axis I think so its been hard to get used to the way it works since you will be doing well then they adjust it and we have to re-learn. |

Remember to put frequent pauses in your firing. Keeps you accurate and saves ammo. |

Actually you are on a planet, and judging from the flames on vehicles when they are about to blow, a planet with atmosphere. |

I would have to concur, at least without aim assist you know it's due to your aim being spotty due to *insert favorite excuse here*, rather than your bullets not going where you aim.
I'm not very good, but I know it's not due to aim assist bending my bullets into rocks trying to hit the center of a hitbox. With practice (and a better ISP) I know I'll get better (well the better ISP might not make me better, but it would eliminate another of my excuses ) |

To which of you who said that deserves a hug. I was bored and I said to myself, "What if aim assist itself is the problem?" Selected off. 13-2. The default aim is actually the best aim. I have good aim, but I was convinced that everyone else was using aim assist to kill me with perfect precision. PPL in BF3 did it so often that is pissed me off. Everyone else: 21-2. What? I play better than about 87% of the people there (not to be arrogant) so it didn't make sense. I turned AA on in that game. 54-9. That's better. I thought everyone else did the same thing. Apparently not. Competition exists. AA off, 21-2. Thank all of you, for telling me that pure aim is better than worthless CPU augmented aim. Turns out aim assist is actually trash in this game. Sorry noobs, but play on default sensitivity. |

I am biased though, as I had always been a PC FPS guy before Dust and BF3 That would be very nice, since the no-lifers use it in BF3 consistently. I had something to prove in that game, that I could fry a no-lifer with no aim assist. All the way from lvl 0 to 36. I came across one with no aim (bullets zig zagged) but a ferocious addiction to aim assist. Clearly, I didn't win. I proceeded to get ahead, and I did, very far ahead. I realize you guys don't play the same. You guys play like me. Like pros. ALL HAIL THIS BETA COMMUNITY!! I did good, but not great, since everyone else basically cheated, because DICE configured their aim assist right. I thank you all for showing me that this AA is glitched, and it kinda takes the fun out of the game when you use it. |

Still, they need to fix the sensitvity, for it gets very uncomfortable when you change it. |

Seconding this, as hard as I can.
Your aim 'should' suck if you're running and hopping around just spraying bullets everywhere. People who take the time and effort to crouch and draw a solid bead should get that extra 'oomph'.
Also, jumping should be minimized to prevent all this bunnyhopping sillyness. I say it should take more stamina to jump than to run.
...or at least factor weight in just a bit more. LIke how much gear you're carrying, weapons and whatnot. I'd like my weapons and armor to affect my weight.
It'd force people to gear up a bit more smartly. |
