What I am talking about is the notion of finally introducing sections to Dust514. By which I mean dividing the meta level up to creat more harmony and balance among the meta game, and play base. I myself personally get frustrated by having to go up against proto gear already simply because, I do not have the time to grind out five hundred thousand skill points a week. However they have the will and time somehow. Ignoring the player at the moment I think it's time we got sects or sections back in Dust514. Providing five or more different meta levels in which would allow for all different styles of play, risk & reward, and players to achieve whatever level of glory or play that they enjoy most. I myself enjoy staying at the standard tech level and below. Why? Because, I enjoy using my skill above equipment or tools. That is my opinion though. Everyone thinks differently. However there can be five or more meta levels in which to accomodate everyone simply enough as outlined in my proposal here.
Proposal:
- [Militia - Militia] Tech Levels (Metal Level Zero)
- [Militia - Standard] Tech Levels (Metal Level One)
- [Standard - Advanced] Tech Levels (Meta Level Two)
- [Advanced - Prototype] Tech Levels (Meta Level Three)
- [Prototype - Prototype] Tech Levels (Metal Level Four)
- [Militia - Prototype] Tech Levels (Meta Level Zero to Four)
This was you accomodate everyone. Casual to the hardcore, and each will obviously have different risks & rewards to which will attract other players of the like minded. I think it is infact very crucial for a game such as Dust514 to have a set up such as this or a kin to something as such. This way as I mentioned you broaden your audience without compromising the intergrity of the game itself. If a player wants like myself wants to play in a meta level of one (example) then why can I not? Of course there will be players whom will achieve the prototype status much faster then I will, and even more eager to make more ISK then I by playing on such a competitive level. This is a healthy and good thing though. This also though makes all items, gear, and equipment actually useful and relevent to the game in a long term stance, and attracts more players to the game. Why? Because, there is and would be a line of balance to the game which is necessary to it's own survival. You know why games like Call of Duty, or Battlefield exist, and flourish? Balance. Anyone can pick up and play. However in a game such as this you have to have more since there is obviously a difference in balance between gear. Appealing to the players in such a way as this would go a long way in providing a stability and foundation the game needs. Atleast it would go a long way in ensuring growth. The less angry the players and the less frustrated the better. Some division such as this is and can be healthy to the game.
Please consider this heavily and with thought CCP. Appease the players with simplicity. |

Thank you, for you're response to the my suggestions and opinions. I do hope to see some form of this by the game's release though. I can compete on a competitive level, but I am at a point in my life where having the option is best for me, as most of the time I like to just roll with my corp. and playing, but that having the option(s) is even better as it allows me to enjoy the full spectrum, but also allows me to know what to expect. Match making is a joke, and no algorithim is going to fully appease the masses, or fix the problem. Server selection on the other hand is about the player's choice, and this is just one way in which to help flesh the game out more so in a way in which also helps build the games population. |
