In match today I had an opponent go 50-0 using the "Grimsnes Missile Launcher" the whole time. The top two players were him at 50/0 (3230 WP) and his corp member at 0/0 (1935 WP). While I'm all in favor for those that spend hours of their life grinding to attain better gear but this seems a little excessive when one person kills 1/3 of the total amount of clones.
Please fix these silly imbalances. |

Please fix these silly imbalances. were they in a LAV kittens love their LAVs, and with the non-existant profile you can't see them on the map at all and on top of that after the missile travels so far the missile disapears all you see are explosions. so the kittens will park the LAV up high and spam unlimited rockets with a seemingly unlimited range. pretty neat huh |

Get your forge gun or swarms out.. or get a LAV out yourself and fly into them.. better yet.. get yourself a few kills while hiding under cover... and then leave the match so you can at least go 5/2 or something. Until your in a corp and working with a good team where you have guys in your squad that can help take those out you just have to work around it.

It's a Grimsnes I think is the spelling, that's a dropship, the 0/0 guy would have been the pilot.
Not all that fun to be bombarded, but yeah a forge gun would have ruined his day. Can't do much about it if the team doesn't fight against it, which is the case for a lot of random groups sadly. |

I feel like the game would benefit from a true Anti Vehicle Dropsuit. Right now nobody runs a "True" anti vehicle Dropsuit because the sidearms alone don't make them very capable against infantry or snipers.
I think it would be neat if the Swarm Launcher and Forge Gun were changed to Anti-Vehicle Weapons and there was a Dropsuit that could use them specificly. Maybe like:
Balistics Dropsuit (i'm sure there's a better name out there) SHP: ??? (Less than an Assault) AHP: ??? (Less than a Heavy) CPU: ??? PG : ???
1 Low Power [I] Slot 1 High Power [--] Slot 1 Anti-Vehicle Weapon Slot [A] (consists of Swarm Launcher and Forge gun. maybe one more weapon added later.) 1 Light Weapon Slot [L] (so they're still effective against infantry) No Grenades. No Equipment.
i know this is pretty half baked but what do you guys think? |

It could work but that is what the swarms launcher and forge guns are for its just that most people don't use them they are all about the AR or any other weapon to boost the KDR instead of working as a team. |

That suit is a tad UP. Maybe just buff the Hoovs HP values a smidgen, give one of them a hull(suit) bonus for Forge Charge Speed or a Swarm Lock Speed Scout suit, and have at it. Vehicles aren't OP, it's the fact that AV weapons aren't widespread among the assault rifle worshiping masses. Specialize, ye damned fools, or ye shall be judged from on high of thine skybox. |

Seems whenever I get a random gunner (or I'm in the gunner seat and some random person jumps in), the result is usually death-by-incompetence |

The AV suit is a bad idea. It's basically designed to be a suit with no weaknesses. It's good against vehicles and infantry. Why would anyone ever use anything else?
The idea that going AV makes you weak to infantry is good. There should be a trade off. It's bad enough anyone can spam an infinite number of militia swarms from their free AV starter suit. |

yeah, but don't expect to kill much outside of poorly fit militia LAV's, or if it has a bad pilot, a militia Dropship using those Militia swarms. My personal Onikuma fit can tank at least 1 swarm hit, and then repair shields after, now up that to a more advanced LAV and you get the picture.
But, the OP is right. If the gunner on any drop ship has their turret skills trained up to 3 or 4, they're pretty much not going to miss, even at high movement speed. Something I learned, once you train those skills, you don't get the stray shots like you would normally. Which makes it exceedingly easy to get a lot of kills with little risk. Think about the only time gunner have risk is if I'm in a game. Cause I'll snipe gunners off the backs of LAVs, and if I can get a good range and angle I can pop em out of dropships too.
I don't think a dedicated AV suit is a good Idea. I think a better variety of side arms would help. I do think suits should get bonus's revolving around AV. The problem is we don't have a large variety of suits to choose from right not to support that. Heavy suit is Amarr right now, which would show a preferrense for Laser and pulse laser weapons. Forge guns are actually heavy rail guns which would be more likely to be seen on a gallente or Caldari heavy suit bonus. Would most likely be a Forge gun bonus for Gallente, HMG Bonus for Minmatar. Caldari would be hard to say, could be a range or recharge bonus for forge, or a bonus for some kind of heavy missile launcher. And a better bonus for Amarr would likely be something for a large anti material beam or pulse beam weapon.
I'd say put the swarm launchers as an assault suit weapon. |

Small missiles are insanely op due to the turret upgrades skill (more damage) missile turret skill (more damage) and damage amplifiers (more damage). A direct hit is quite capable of killing a 700hp heavy. Splash will get him in 2. Bad balancing. |

I like the idea in EVE where a properly trained noob can still take out a vet with 50mil SP so long as they have the right strategy. I hope the same game design mentality is brought to Dust. |

In Dust that's even more real. Remember, everything on the field is situational, it's such a fluid environment. Even basic militia stuff can kill people on regular basis. |
