Read through the entire article. I find it interesting now looking back and especially after this past week. A few questions I have....
1) Will there be an OPEN BETA since we're still in the closed beta?
2) How much has this affected the project for the BETA and the results?
3) With the limited knowledge we have about the player mechanics...why's everyone bitching? This is only the BETA, everything will be reset, I think the focus should be more on skill tree building rather than how much ISK was transferred.
I'm excited for each new week to see what they're throwing at us. Seeing as most of us are not privy to the behind the scenes project meetings and change control meetings, all we can do is play, learn and build a DB for them to analyze.
I can't get enough of this, even though it's quite frustrating at times with the lag and whatnot, it's still giving us solid experience if you look at the BETA in the right frame of mind over the players who will be starting out new. Sure we'll all have the same start point, but the knowledge and notes you take now, will put you that much further ahead of the other players.
And to think, for the corps, you could bring in new players and train them. Instead all I hear about is that the new players will run, and waaahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhh.
Guess it's all on how you look at the BETA.
I would like to however see a character reset soon and maybe up the SP starting out and SP rewards to better explore the skill combo's, but for now...loving the thought of what we will be able to play in the near future.

"Beta" is not an acronym and should not be in all caps. |

They said, " we still want eve to fund wars"..."tell your friend, here's $50B ISK"
Really???? CCP will allow EVE players to hand that kind of money over?? I thought they wanted to help the casual out and keep them competitive with vets? And what will be the point of earning ISK in DUST when guys are walking around with $50B ISK?????
That will fund them forever and they can and will be wreckless with their spending. Being careful about what you're spending ISK on adds intrigue to the game. I promise you, CCP, if you will allow this, then you will lose playerbase |

If you're part of a alliance, I don't think it won't be a problem. But I'm sure PVE will be a big part for Dust players. |

It's not as bad as you think. See, casual players will be able to just start up a game and go shoot stuff, the rest of us who are looking for that kind of money will focus on the thousands of planets that need taking for our EVE Overlords, so the people with that kind of money, you'll barely see due to them all busy fighting for EVE corps. |

This again. I can almost promise you that you misunderstand how the connection to EVE will work.
The first thing that you will have to do as a beginning player is take a warbarge to nullsec and fight nothing but tanks for a month until your KDR is .0003.
Then and only then will you be allowed to start the game in high sec fighting other rand nubs in quick battles where a computer matches you with players who have twice the skill points that you've managed to accumulate. High sec is where you can join an EVE corp, and as a member you have to call the EVE players "my most shiny masters" or the game will crash. At this point there will be maybe two or three players left in the player base. But they will still have a long ways to go.
Then...
Really, I think you are getting worried for no good reason. There will be safeguards. Basically what you are saying is that if you make the game interesting then no one will play it. |
