Okay so here it goes: the assault rifles in this game is like the M16A3 in BF3, just that every meta you go up, it seems that they get more and more op. And to make matters worse, the AUR rifles are like the FMG9 from MW3, because any time you go up with one, and you don't have one, you will die. |

wrong.... wrong and wrong again...
Laser rifle prevails against AR at middle\long range. SMG can beat an AR no problem at less than 10m. A Shotgun will own an AR at less than 5m.
=> you just feel that way because AR is the most common weapon. And is quite versatile. |

Nope. If I don't flank and we both start shooting at the same time milita assault > top aur shotgun
It's 1 shot kill or nothing against an AR, ANY AR. And I guess that's where the problem arises. How do you counter something that puts out more dps than a blaster turret |

Seriously ? do the math again. I kill AR dudes with non-ar weapons every game. and a lot. Especially with scrambler pistols.
And of course you must flank with a shotgun..... If you rush the guy and need to go the extra 20 meters to get to him you deserve to die. |

I feel like if they would just add a little more recoil it would be pretty balanced. Introduction of lasers helped a lot. Before they dominated at that range, and were only really vulnerable CQ and long sniper range. Lasers did a lot to help give a counter to that mid-range point, and if you're good at keeping control of distance, lasers can be effective counters. Makes for great mid-range area denial and defense... tougher on offense where you are unlikely to have control of distance. Only tricky part is when you are out of range, you're out of range no question, and CQ you better have another gun.
Overall, I'm happier with where AR's are now than previously, I just think it's a little too easy to point'n-kill. Add some more kick and it'll be good.
Although there is a super inordinate amount of kills with the gek-38 or whatever it's called. That usually isn't a good sign for balance when one weapon is dominating the battlefield. Add recoil and see what happens. |
