Answer: A dropship is called a dropsh*t because;- 1. You try to attain cruising height but the control mechanism really sucks! You twist and turn and you go;-"Oh sh**!" 2. You finally attain cruising height and then you realize that there are about 20 swarms behind you! You go "Oh sh**!" and you try to run away from them 3. You manage to avoid those swarms and then you run into a couple of forge gunners with their forges ready! You go "Oh sh**!"! 4. The forge guns take your dropsh*ts out and you bail to land right in a bunch of red dots eagerly awaiting to kill you! You go "Oh sh**!"
So you spec into dropsh*ts, just to see it drop from the sky and while all thats happening you are going "Oh sh**!". Hence dropships are called dropsh*ts! |

If you're specced into dropships, you shouldn't be losing them.
Flying the dropship is solid. It's like flying... a dropship.
Swarms are laughable.
Forge guns are laughable to a good pilot.
In fact I'm laughing at all of these threads I see.
Dropship is OP! Next thread, DROPSHIP IS UNDERPOWERED! |

but swarms do need to be more effective. |

Simple fix: change the path of the swarms to take the shortest distance to target. It'll still be possible to outrun swarms, but if you use them right it'll get a solid hit each time, and give the pilot the opportunity to test their skill dodging them.
I know many of the noobs would prefer a one-hit-blap-it-all cannon, but thats not the point of balancing. |

As a pilot love this idea. There has been many times my gunner tells me that I have swarms coming in, I kick into evasives just to have the swarms match my every movement to the t. I think that makes very little sense. I think a adjustment like this would be very helpful. One it would benefit the people who actually take the time and SP to put into SL. Two it would help weed out the pilots that are only there because right now it can be difficult to take down a DS. I think this would be very much a skilled based move as well. Now the SL wielders would actually have to take the time and place a shot so the swarms would not be taken out by the terian on the way to the ship, and the pilots would actually have to know how to dodge them not out run them(there is no skill in speed).
I stand by this idea as a pilot I think it would be a great addition to the games air play. |

Actually, I didn't have trouble flying last build and yesterday I was rescued from the side of the mountain behind B on the jagged rock map and the pilot held the vehicle steady the whole time |

I know many of the noobs would prefer a one-hit-blap-it-all cannon, but thats not the point of balancing. actually, someone else already figured out the main problem with swarms:
They consider most of the dropship itself to be an "obstacle"- it's espescially noticeable when you fire swarms directly at a dropship flying straight at you, then all the swarms swerve out of the way of the very thing you're trying to hit. |

My corp just recruited a few dropship pilots the other day, played with them last night. It was me and Riot, who is an experienced forge gunner, on one team. On the other team was our dropship pilots... long story short they dominated our team, the gunner went 35-0, even with our experienced forge gunner taking shots at them.
If you can't do well with a dropship in this build, then perhaps dropships arent suited for you. Cause it is well known that dropships in this build are more like battle cruisers. |
