Okay, before you go flying off the handle, just here me out.
I think that 3-4 days before the tournament, CCP should reset all isk, SP, assets. But, during this reset, go back to the previous diminishing returns over 24 hour SP format (or something similar, NOT what we have now). This will accomplish a few things for both the game and upcoming tournament.
1st- The SP cap as it is now is TERRIBLE!! You wanted people to stay competitive and keep playing, yet, if anyone misses a week of playtime there is no possible way to catch up because you can't just sit down for a long grind session to make up for lost SP. (my opinion, but shared by many others)
2- It solves the isk problem. Instantly erases all the transfers from Eve to Dust that were "unintended" (and yes, i did get home to discover ridiculous amounts of isk in my wallet)
3- Fixes the market/mass purchases situation that is causing the all the recent bugs (if, in fact, that is what is causing those bugs)
4 - This isk situation has already placed a black cloud over the upcoming corp tournament, in the sense that "He who can afford the most good stuff wins" could end up being the case. So the reset would accomplis the following:
-Gives everyone a few days to level into HAVs, Dropships, Forge Guns, HMGs, etc. But only a few, so that everyone actually has to organize as a corp and decide who will specialize in what (and who can afford what).
-Corps could actually have some players in the initial matches, while others are leveling, preparing for later rounds
-Finances and battle planning now become strategy, as opposed to "Cost doesn't matter, call in all the Dropships and HAVs you want"
-Starts everyone on "equal" ground, and removes the inevitable complaint of "they spammed dropships or HAVs" or whatever isk-related complaints that will inevitably be leveled at the winners.
-This also means that as the tournament progresses people can grind for more SP when not in corp battles. Basically starting the tournament with militia/lvl 1 stuff in the early rounds, and finishing in a great climactic Proto vs Proto battle for the championship.
Yes, I do know this is biased towards those who will get to participate in the tournament, but I would still be okay with it even if my corp doesn't get in. Also this is, of course, under the assumption that they can reset only isk, assets, and Sp without erasing our actual corps.
Remember, we've got more wipes coming anyways. Your thoughts?
EDIT: I'd be especially interested in the opinions of corp leaders hoping to get into the tournament. |

Mavado V Noriega wrote:No SP reset are u ******* high ISK wipe and then give everyone say 5-10 mill seems legit but wipin SPs ppl suffered for with this bs cap in place then tellin ppl go no life for a couple days with no sleep to get somewhere decent again? yeaa no thanks buddy....game is already bland as is I see your point, but that's why i suggested changing the current SP cap system. I fully agree that the current cap is bs and I would gladly sacrifice my current SP for a different, better system. |

Isn't the point of a tournament to display one's skill? Even field would do just that, clean slate before start of tournament and we will be able to watch who can have better organized corp's and who has the skill.
This IS a BETA mind you, so none of this will matter much anyways. We're all here to TEST and find issues. That is exactly what we're doing. This isn't for keeps yet. So how can i be a HMG then, if theres a wipe? That's why i said reset a few days earlier, so we could have time to grind up to lvl 1 stuff before the tourney.
PS i am heavy Hmg too. |

Actually, i play to the cap every week, you probably should have checked into that before assuming this post was about people getting too far ahead of me. What i said wad that it was a possibility, and if someone had to take a week off It would be impossible for them to catch up.
As for Mo, I'm sure he was being smart a**.
PS. Some advice: dont troll around forums pretending to know more about real life than anyone else. We are playing fictional characters in a digital world, you dont know any of us. Makes you come across pathetic and spiteful, when in real life im sure you are most likely a decent person. |

Tiel Syysch wrote:This would create an unfair advantage in favor of the corps that have huge player counts, giving them more ability to grind a lot of ISK in such a short time to afford things such as expensive skill books and expensive vehicles and expensive not-militia gear.
Give everyone money to use during the tournament if it's such a concern. Thank you Tiel, for the well thought out and legitimate argument against my suggestion. I hadn't thought of that, but you are correct, there would be an unfair advantage for the larger corps. |

This guy is reading far to much into these thread replies. Lol. Btw, there are 150 of us in my corp, that large enough? And, speaking of growing a pair, this guy has no stats, so he is obviously an alt who doesn't want us knowing his actual in game character. |

and stats? you honestly are leaning on stats in a beta? that's actually only slightly more vaginal then the guy asking for the isk reset. only slightly. a closed beta at that?
Peace V
I'll try and dumb myself down to speak your language, just this once, then you can troll back all you want cause i wont be returning to this thread, as I have gotten the general consensus about my suggestion for as reset. Which was "No", and that's cool. I mostly wanted the SP cap to revert back to the way it was in the last build anyway.
Man, actually read the posts above your reply before you reply. Please. I'm not leanning on stats, I checked to see if you have any, and you don't. You have 0 kills, 0 deaths, 0 WP, and 0 W/L, which means one of two things, either you haven't ever actually played the beta this build (then why are you here?) or you are too big of a vag to let us know who you really are. (in which case, you opinions mean nothing) |
