The game needs better group matching, so squads end up facing other squads. Right now, if you queue on the weekend as a solo player, you're very likely to find yourself playing against the same squad of players over and over.
The blob-or-lose mentality has plagued Eve pvp for a very long time, and has been a barrier to players engaging in what a majority find to be the most fun aspect of the game (pvp).
I hope that upon release there is an option that prohibits any form of grouping, or following friends into non-group games. This suggestion in no way is meant to limit the ability to form groups or engage in higher level tactical team play, but rather a request to allow players an option to face other random pick-up-groups. These random grouping matches would likely have no effect on sov or planet control or whatever other eve mechanic.
It seems the developers recognized the problem with high meta dropsuits being so dramatically superior to low-tier suits that it made the game nearly impossible for new players to enjoy. The issue of solo players being forced to face groups of experienced players on coms is a far more significant balance issue than dropsuits and skillpoints ever were. |

This isn't a bad idea. Though, something other games do in regards to this is that you can still join as a group, but you might not all be put on the same team or in the same squad overall.
This way you can play with your friends... but also against them. |

This way you can play with your friends... but also against them. There are still some small problems when you let groups in but force random teams. It opens the potential for farming. In CoD it was farming for a nuke, in dust it might be for orbital strikes.
I would prefer no group joining at all in that mode, but I would still take any random team mode. |
