Laser rifles need a longer range, and a faster damage increase, but a slighty faster overheat time, and the same cooldown time.

what are your skills currently. I know the light weapon sharpshooter and its prof skill greatly add range to your gunz. train your skills to 5 and then reflect could be an option. |

Laser rifle deals more damage at longer range IE (pulling ref numbers out of ass) If it deals 100% damage at 50m and 120% at its max range of 75m then if you add sharpshooter levels it doesn't set the new higher max range at 120% damage, it add a new better damage bracket of 120+% damage.
If LR sucks to you then you either aren't using it at the right ranges, don't have the right skills for it, or aren't keeping the laser on target and are sweeping or otherwise misusing the gun. Its a excellent high damage weapon that can burn through groups if given a chance and like missiles grenades and mass driver rounds it prevents the killed person from being revived to rejoin battle. |

I know that, but it seems to me that the AR has the more range, and it kills faster. What I'm saying is it should be the opposite. LR's IMO should reach out to 100 meters to be more effective, and they also need a sight of some kind, most likely a 4x (Iknow attachments are coming, I'm talking about right now.). |

no real buff needed. What would be good is to have a 'diamond shaped' range/damage graph. Meaning damage wouldn't abruptly go from over 9000 to zero in one meter. Already suggested nerf in the form of making overheating a real thing. |

I heard the LR's sharpshooter range boost does not increase the portion of the beam's length that does extra damage. While range increases, the high damage zone does NOT get longer, so it decreases the percentage of the beam where you get the extra damage. |
