The tournament is a great idea but I think there has been something over looked here. Any US corp will be at a disadvantage against EU corps. Plenty of US players are at work at this time while EU players are not.
I think the schedule for fridays need to be revised.
If there isn't a change then there is an obvious bias. Sorry truth hurts.

The tournament will be a joke if the requirements include skipping work to play video games. I thought they wanted people with money to play this game, you know, to pay for it? |

Agreed, and can you imagine to conversation that would have to ensue with your boss inorder to get the time off to play?
"Hi (insert bosses name here). I was just wondering if I could have the next 3 Friday off?"
"Sure Mobius, what are you up to?"
"Oh, well, I'd really like to play in this tournament."
"A tournament? I didn't know you were on a team. What do you play, indoor soccer or something?"
"Umm. No. Its a tournament for this video game, DUST 514. Its part of EVE (this is where I start to ramble and my boss's eyes glaze over)."
"Yea...Actually Mobius I really need you here at work. We have this huge dead line coming up and..."
And let the odd looks around the office commence.

There's a difference between asking you to stay up late and asking you to forfeit 3 days of income. |

If you have to be in bed at 10pm on a friday night tourny schedule is probably the least of your concerns |

First off: Only a few have started then but most where at 1-2 AM.
CCPs residence is in Reykjavik so why should it be just US oriented. In EVE the tournaments are at such times too. |

3 Days of income? Really? Wow. This is a non-issue. If you can't field enough to get past 1 day of matches over a 3 day weekend of them (basically, 1 match), then you will fail at this game in the long run. What will you do when the 500 mil contract drops on a Wednesday during the day? Come onto the forums and cry cause you had to work?
This game does NOT revolve around American players. I am an American player, I understand this. But the "me me me" mentality of the console group strikes once again. THIS is why this game should have been a PC only title. |
