Indeed, there is still hit detection issues but it seems they've located the problem and are working on it. Hopefully I didn't waste my SP by dumping it into scout suits to early |

I'd make them much faster...
Movement speed 8 m/s Sprint speed 10 m/s Sprint Duration 25 seconds
So basically they stay the same, but you really really move really really fast. I think this would give them a unique advantage while not making them too overpowered. |

Anti-Armor or Logibro for me. so.... what, you refuse to use the assault class because you can't aim and decided that now since scouts can actually be hit it is no longer good? |

No.
my idea of what a scout should be is based on stealth. not bunnyhopping and circle-strafing around the map. If you've seen ANY of my other posts on the subject, you'd know that.
it doesn't work.
I'm sticking with my AV guy for now, or I will make a Logistics. Those are what I have fun with. Assault is BORING. and Scouts SUCK.
also, I'm tired of douchebags screaming "WAAAAAH YOU CAN'T AIM" whenever someone suggests that something about this game may not be perfect, or even good.
right now, the Scout suit is pointless. maybe when Cloaking is put in the game, the scout suit will serve a purpose. maybe not.
but my complaint has absolutely nothing to do with whether I can aim or not or whether I can be hit or not. |

Agreed. I use an assault suit while doing my scout work. The added survivability and CPU/PG far outweigh the increased sprint time and boosted scanner range which is kinda pointless.
The only thing I miss is the innate reduction to sniper sway of the scout suit, but that's minor |

My biggest gripe with the scout suit is that while I am wearing it, and trying to go about my sneaky business, I don't feel like I am contributing anything worthwhile to my team's effort., that I could not do in an Assault suit. |

Yeah, I don't feel the suit is exclusive enough yet. Maybe if cloaking arrives and you can only use it for scout, or you get an added bonus only available to that fit, it might make up for it's lacklustre viability. |

Scouts dont suck dude! Its the hit detection with the sniper rifle! Red lined a bunch of doods today! Tried sniping them! Didnt hit any of them unless they came out in the open. Known bug! CCP is "fixing" it like all the other crap they have to fix! |

I use the scout/sniper for 3 purposes: Hunt other snipers, support team capturing a point and defending a point from being captured. Kill/death% is not my focus but whatever I can do to support my team. Otherwise Heavy and Logi are my other builds. |

If you read my diaries regarding ninja knifing, you will notice that speed and stealth is the scout suit's biggest advantage. It is not intended to go into areas like a typical assault suit is made for.
I once put together a fit that uses the Scout Type-I suit fitted with 2x enhanced sprint speed mods and thus bringing my suit's speed to over 9m/s. Mixed in with an enhanced profile dampener you will be able to sneak past some mercs with ease. But if you take off one of the speed modules and replace it with a militia profile dampener (which for some reason takes up a low slot compared to its non-militia variant) then your profile drops enough to sneak past most mercs with near impunity. Perfect for when you want to sneak in drop uplinks and hack some objectives. |

I want to use it as a stealthy hacker/assassin type.
can't do that.

I use my scout fitting as a scout--recon, flanking, hacking, etc. I think it works fine for that role. I'm not sure why you think they don't work. They aren't combat machines anymore, but they work if you avoid head-on combat and use maneuver to your advantage. |

Its not that they don't work its just that assault works better. |

Scout does feel extremely weak now. I've played one since I first got into the beta and their strong points, namely speed and evasion have been hit every single build, while they received nothing in the way of other buffs to compensate.
Secondly, their T2 suits seem to be useless. The assault T2 gets to be essentially a slightly slower scout suit, with way more tank and better slot availability. The scout T2 has less buffer than the standard scout just to get an extra equipment slot? Useless.
Id rather see it as a close combat specialist. More shields, maybe more speed. Two side arm slots and give up the light weapon slot so you could go with smg and knife or pistol/knife. |

definately more speed it still should be paper thin though and you can already fit 2 sidearms with the light weapon slot |

I agree that running as a scout can be difficult. But it's far from impossible. You just have to focus on the scouts strengths like speed & stealth. & avoid mid range combat completely, as most scout builds will not have adequate protection. In most cases you should focus on long range or CQC.

I understand that you can already fit 2 side arms, I meant that potentially the suit could be limited to only side arms to differentiate it from a standard scout, and balance it so it could have more defense/speed without inciting crying. |

Scouts are extremely useful when used properly. They are not assault suits and shouldn't be used as such!
A shotgun scout for example, is extremely maneuverable and lethal in close quarters. Also extremely good for capturing objectives quickly.
Snipers are also very effective, but once again getting into close combat will end in tears. |

Scouts are not useless, at least not entirely. They just have limited applications. I always do my best to avoid head on confrontations and try to sneak from behind using hidden paths and profile dampeners. It's what it does best. Because if this advantage it doesn't need buffs in shield or armor. |
