The caldari struck first so we gallente must strike back!
Considering the gallente ship's ability to effectively be an armor or shield tank, our armor and shields should be near equal.
Type I
Shield: 225
Armour: 475
Type II
Shield: 325
Armour: 375

I alway thought Gallante Type I should be a 350/350 (may be a little bit more armor like your Type II variant)
So I have no idea what Gallente Type II should be like :p even more shield ? |

Actually a complete balance would go to the minmatar as they favor neither armor or shields tin most cases |

I have heard of these Minmatar and their shields of tin, which they do not favor over armor. But tell me more. |

Gallente mainly armour tank, with a few exceptions. The shields had faster recharge then Caldari ships though. So, give amarr huge armour, gallente high armour with fast shield recharge, caldari huge shield with normal recharge, and minmatar would be all over the place(vary suit to suit)
The fast recharge would make gallente the most viable to put four extenders on a proto assualt suit, but caldari would be best shield tank while using high slots for damage/speed. |

Gallente ships are armor tanks almost always. There are a few exceptions (such as the Talos). As far as dropsuits go, I believe CCP plans on implementing each faction's version of every type of suit, such as gallente heavy, amarr scout, minmatar assault, etc.
This is something that would be awesome down the road once all the mechanics have been sorted out. Also would be cool to see faction versions of weapons. |

I dont think armor and shield values will be as they are in EVE. I think dropsuits will always have more armor than shields. I believe this was intended to make armor a valuable "ressource" and to make logistic more important. there would be almost no point in logistic in a fps if you could recover armor easily by yourself. I believe this is intended to give the losing team a fighting chance.
you have to see it from a different point of view: you are in a match and you win the first fight at an objective und push the offender back but your armor is heavily damaged from the encounter. you will be at a big disadvantage in the next fight if you dont have proper logistic when the enemy team respawns with full armor. if the enemy logistic is doing their job properly then they will have a spawn point near the objective, thus can constantly apply pressure and the defender will eventually lose due to attrition. |

I've never played EVE, but that T-II suit is nearly identical in stats to the Amarr (nearly worse in every way). What would be the point to wear a gallente heavy suit over an amarr one (assuming this is kind of what it will be like when CCP release it)? |

I wasnt talking about the base values of drop suits only but fully fitted. armor plates have more hp on them than shield extenders.
