Hi,
I am playing Dust from (I think) the first build, and my Dust size on ps3 HDD is almost 7 Gb.
Today I went to my friend and gave him spare key. He downloaded Dust, we played it, and looked how much space does it eat. And it was only 4 Gb!
Why he has lees than 7 Gb? I think old files from old builds doesn't delete or something...
So for the purpose of statistics. Can everyone of you write how much Dust takes space on your ps3, and from what build are you playing?
Thanks |

Simple answer: your downloading a game that gets constant patches, each patch or new build adds to what you already have. those running current build only have the 3gigs of codex on their HDD.
this will expand over time just like most MMO's |

Incorrect. Everyone is running the same version of Dust and it should take up the same amount of space. If it isn't, then CCP has a problem to fix.

can it be due the HDD its fragmented? PS3 uses and standard Laptop HDD so maibe thats the problem? PS3 dont have a defragmentator tool right -+? |

Fragmented files take up near as dammit the same space, they are just broken in smaller pieces and spread across the drive. That won't affect the file size. |

Been on since E3 build....
6129mb used + 3405kb save file....
DCUO did the same thing,,,, i think its something to do with games that update through the client as opposed to a usual ps3 game patch (dust does both)...... they tend to sprawl and take up a huge amount of space |

Dust performance definitely seems to vary ps3 to ps3.
The previous build was absolute **** for me, and so far Codex has been Rock F*cking solid.
I have heard at least a handful of people say the exact opposite though that previous build was stable and that Codex has been a nightmare for them.
They need a crash detail uploader to fire off reasons why a crash happened like they have for the eve client. |

almost 7GB here as well, with about 3.4GB save files.
My DUST is extremely unstable, to the point of being unplayable. All I have to do is enter the Neocom and I risk getting a framerate drop like you wouldn't believe (1-2 frames per 5-10 seconds. Other times, it just happens.
I've just deleted all save data for DUST, and are doing the check disk (option 3) from the PS3 Safe Mode menu. Lets see if this clears up my problem. I suspect the save data may well be the problem, ass my instability and FPS drop is accompanied by severe HDD activity.

Ok, that solved my stability problems it seems. I'll have to play some more to be sure, but now I get the end of game leader board again, and the round was smooth without framerate drops.
The downside with deleting the DUST Saved Data is that you will lose ALL settings in dust, your sensitivity, headset, keyboard and mouse mappings etc. |

Could be :)
3400+ something in the counter. At any rate, deleting those seem to have solved my FPS issue. |
