I am SICK of dying mysteriously and having no idea what got me when I'm just spawning in or when I'm behind cover. I'm running along, no enemies around, no snipers around, sometimes in enclosed areas with no windows, BOOM DEAD! Give me a freakin' break! Let's get a kill cam or some sort of third person replay of my death or SOMETHING that will tell me what got me. I don't have any idea if I should spawn back in the same area, I don't know what to look out for, and I have no idea how to avoid dying the same way again.
Just knowing if it was intentional or a random grenade toss that killed me would make me feel better. Just knowing who killed me without having to hope I catch a glimpse of it in the scrolling list at the top of the page would make me feel better. But when a sniper or turret or AR or explosive suddenly kills me out of nowhere without me ever hearing a sound or seeing anything coming, I get SO ******* PISSED!
I have a right to know what the hell just killed my ass. I can't look around to try to spot my killer, I can't move around while dying, I can't try to shoot or hurt any enemies going by, at LEAST let me see what killed me when I die.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GIVE ME SOMETHING!! |

super-impose your killspam on the death screen.
that way you can clearly see who and what killed you as you lay there, without missing it on the killscroll. |

However, once the bugs and issues are worked out, I would still like to see a killcam or third person view of my death of some sort. It's an entertaining addition to any game like this, and it makes it a little less frustrating to actually see how you died rather than having to trust that the game physics didn't just glitch a grenade through a wall right next to you.
So please, devs, please add one once you guys clear up the other issues plaguing the game. It's a great comfort seeing things are working fairly with my own eyes. It would also help us determine balance issues if we can see how things are working when we die, like splash damage radius and hit detection issues. |

The "killspam" or "killfeed" is that list in the upper right corner that tracks who's getting killed by what, and if you watch it, it will display who and what you were killed by.
But no killcams. That's free intel on enemy positions, and its instant death to a game like this. Planetside 2 had killcams early on, and the entire fanbase jumped on that bullshit in a hurry. Someone who managed to kill you shouldn't have to suffer you getting their perspective on the kill, or you magically being able to see where they are. |

Ah, so that's what it's called. Never though about it before. Thanks
Yeah, I figured that no killcams would be the view of most, which is why I said third person view of yourself when you die. You could then see the bullet or missile hit you, or the grenade land at your feet or fly at you, but not really see where it came from except for a very general direction (which you already usually get by the hit indicator when you take damage) and still see how you died. kind of like a spectator cam or ghost cam, but without camera control.
When a tank or turret is sniping me from across the map I would like to see myself get hit and see generally the direction it came from since as it is I just suddenly die with no feedback from the hit indicator and no sound or indication of what hit me, and the killspam sometimes scrolls so fast that I don't have time to see it because I'm still waiting to see if there are logiunits nearby and if I survived the hit or if I'm respawning.
Would you compromise on a 3rd person death view? |

Would you compromise on a 3rd person death view? That's actually the default system for Crysis, which we've had to deal with in regards to the MechWarrior Living Legends mod, and isn't very popular in that context either. Now, Planetside 2 compromised with showing your dead body from directly above, and showing you a picture of the player that killed you and the weapon they were using, as well as the two players with the highest assist damage, if there were any. |

Thanks again for the constructive feedback, getting tired of being flamed anytime I try to have a conversation on a topic that people don't agree with.
Ah.. hm. I'd settle for anything really at this point, I'm just tired of dying mysteriously with no feedback from the game other than a quick-scroll of who's getting their ass shot off. If they'd not deaden the sounds when you go down and let you look around it still wouldn't be so bad.
I've had a guy throw a cooked grenade directly into my face before. I know what killed me, but all I saw was the guy in front of me, then a side view of the ground. No controller vibration, no damage indicator, no explosion sound, visual explosion animation or flash of light, and nothing to do but wait to see if I could be revived or if I'd have to respawn. I know that sometimes that's just how I died on other occasions, but it feels so restricting the way it is.
