Have you thought about replacing your current, possibly 5400 rpm, HDD with a faster one like say 7200rpm or even a solid state? |

I've replaced the hard drive. Had to go through a hard drive replacement, reformat, re-install(4.25), and then a Backup re-install, then ANOTHER DOWNLOAD! Didn't help a thing. |

I have heard that an SSD in a PS3 doesn't really cause much of a noticeable difference. I can understand that being the case when a game is ran almost completely off the BD since that would be the bottleneck, but I read that even with games ran directly off the drive doesn't help much.
I'm not even sure the PS3 has TRIM garbage collection for a SSD, so it may start off pretty quick but over-time degrade significantly.

Yeah and the SSD probably won't fit as the carriage will only fit a 10mm thick HDD max. So limited to the 7200rpm drives. |
