There is more skill in putting a defend order on your team mate who is at the other side of the map then their is killing people with a Mass Driver.
These things are so OP at the moment its unreal, try and go 1 v 1 with a MD user and 9/10 they will faceroll you. Mass Drivers ruin your aim and do far too much damage.
I suggest reducing the amount of aim displacement they cause on the enemy maybe then they will have a chance.
I'm saying this as a MD user, in CQC if your red your dead.

i never really run into the MDs that often to really know about the displacement. of course i'm in a scout suit and you can pretty much just sneeze on them and they die.
how does it displace is it like that stupid shaking from last build only it turns you in the direction? |

if your on the receiving end of a MD it knocks your aim off quite alot, if the MD user is half decent you wont be able to hit them |

Well, it is a grenade launcher, so you would expect it to rattle you a little bit and cause some damage. |

They're supposed to be deadly at CQC. Shotguns are nearly instant death in CQC too. Instead of crying nerf, people should learn keep their distance.
It's not like they don't have disadvantages. They're harder to use at long ranges, their ROF is low, reloading is slow, and ammo capacity is pretty low too. You can also really hurt yourself at close ranges if you're not careful.

That actually sounds ok to me though. |

i think they are fine in the dame aspect of things and ammo and rate of load, only thing I dislike about them is their are near impossible to aim.
So you came up against someone who can use it really well, cant say I have in all the time i've been playing dust.

>For the sake of safety, these things shouldn't even go off until they reach a certain distance. And since we're wearing 1/2 inch superalloy armor with plasma shielding, the impact alone isn't going to do anything, unlike that other game. If you're up close, you should have to hit R2 instead of exploding everything like a pre-E3 swarm missile.
>Also, as a Minmatar system it seems to be more of a micro-artillery weapon. it should have special optics that show the impact zone instead of a reticule, allowing for a long range strike, while requiring teammates to watch your back during aiming.
>Lastly, the sighting function could allow a soldier to launch multiple rounds, while having them impact at the same time. A mode-switch ability could allow it to be an automatic skill-based thing. |

I disagree that they are overpowered. They are hard to aim, small magazine, very low damage per magazine compared to an assault rifle, and not as versatile as an AR.
Keep in mind shotguns, and HMGs are usually instant death at close range (more so than mass drivers). It doesn't make those weapons overpowered.
Other weapons need to be as viable as the assault rifle for the game to be balanced. |

That's what I'm worried about. I kill a few people with a MD, they get on the forums and start crying, then it gets nerfed to the point that it's not even worth using. The one thing that makes it a viable weapon is the damage it can do if its used properly. If that goes away then it's useless. |

so true. To be honest, they are useless beyond 30m. Their damage isn't all that strong either. In CQC it took two near direct hits to take out a guy of full health. In reality, they should've been rag dollin' in the air after the first. |

And that's if you can actually hit them directly. If you can, you deserve the kill.
For me on average it takes me 3-4 shots to kill an assault suit with the basic MD (lvl 3 MD operation, no mods). So that's hardly at noob-tube status. If that doesn't do it I have to switch to my sidearm or reload. When that happens I end up getting face fulls of AR rounds half the time.
I've only come across ~5 enemy MD users since I started playing 2 builds ago. So it's not like they're an epidemic anyway.
EDIT: Not to mention the fact that I absolutely must equip nanohives on a MD fit which takes up CPU that I could be using for something else. I constantly have to stop somewhere to replenish ammo during a match. Basic MD has 12 shots total. I have light weapon capacity at level 3 and it only bumps it up to 14. Thats a lot of SP for 2 freakin extra rounds. |
