Umm, no. No, they do not need to be debuffed, or lowered. Infact if anything they are unrealistically not even matching their real range. Even skilling into it your passive 'range' skill does equate to realistic ranges. If you have a problem with the AR (Assault Rifle) then it's on you. The HMG (Heavy Machine Gun) is also fine. Infact it could still use a little more buffing, but that is heresay. The basic AR is fine as is. If anything the 'breach' variant needs a major buff.
Nonetheless though the basic AR is fine and does not need to be debuffed, or lowered. |

No they don't. AR's are supposed to be useful. They are good at long range, and short range. The benefits of having an smg, as opposed to an assault rifle, is that you have a larger clip, shorter aim speed, and less spread at close range.
Artificially balancing guns so that all weapons are equally useful is dumb and will kill the game. The AR's are very close to where they should be, balance-wise.
Other weapons are for specific roles, not to just run around with every spawn. If you want to run around with a sniper, shotgun, or smg prepare to play differently than you would with an AR.
Maybe smgs need to be buffed in close range combat, that's fine. But don't call for nerfs on the AR class just because you suck at utilizing tactics. |

they need alot more recoil. the militia AR fires like a laser as all rounds land on target with fully auto fire.
mind you this is with no SP into anything for the AR.
I know the AR is supposed to be useful in pretty much any situation but having the AR dominate close range while having little to no recoil for longe range fights is just not right. |

sniper rifles in this game are basically mini-railguns cant really have bullet drop on a railgun from the distances snipers engage at tbh |
