All vehicles that carrying 2 or more mercs should give the driver war points over time for keeping the vehicle from getting destroyed, and also get points for teammates spawning on the vehicle's CRU. This would really incentivize use of vehicles, and make sure there would be incentive to pilot group (like dropships).
The SP could just be based on continuous flight or movement time, so stationary vehicles get no points; this is too prevent people from boosting in immobile vehicles. |

just give the pilot/driver points for each spawn in their vehicle and small bonus for kill as a driver assist.
just +15-25...
would be fine like that.. no SP over time that's going to get abused. |

There is a slight problem- I saw a group of 3 or 4 people boosting today. If they would put one more person in the passenger seat of the LAV they were boosting in, this would get them even more WP. |

Boosting will be fixed by CCP. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=40543&find=unread
With the right limitations can prevent abuse, or at least make usefulness exceed possible abuse. |

I've seen this suggested before, and I super don't get why keeping people in the vehicle would be a metric of success for a vehicle operator. The idea of a transport is to get people to an objective and back out of the vehicle as soon as possible. That's why transport assists (awarding a driver a portion of points earned by someone they recently dropped off) are a good idea, because it encourages a driver to take people to somewhere they'll make a difference.
This idea does the opposite of that. It encourages you to keep people in your vehicle and out of the fight for as long as possible. |

Bump. Dropship pilots need love.
Give us guns or SP for doing troop spawning/transport stuff, and the durability to do that.... not the backside of all the nerfs and buffs that have been going on.

In my opinion a vehicle drivers should receive WP when a turret operator in the vehicle receive WP.
In additional to that a vehicle driver should receive WP for transporting mercs. However that is harder to implement. If you give WP for just time/range drove, it'll be abused very easily.
I suggest the following (or something like this ): - when a merc enters a vehicle you set a timer on him for the vehicle - when he left a vehicle --- if the timer is greater or equal than T1 you assign a flag F1 to him for the vehicle owner --- if the timer is lower than T1, you start to count it back - when the merc receive WP, if flag F1 for the vehicle is set, than that vehicle owner get WP (fixed amount or part of the merc WP) until he receive MAXWP1 number of WP
This way a vehicle owner receive some WP (but maximum MAXWP1 WP) only if a merc whom he's provided transport service (for not less than T1 time) do something useful (receive WP). |

I would suggest another approach in addition to Vehicle CRU spawn WP. If a merc drops from vehicle it flags the merc with a "Passenger of X" with X being the person in the driver seat of the vehicle. The flag would be temporary .. maybe 2 or 3 minutes and will award the driver with a vehicle commission (30 or 40%) based on the WP gained by the dropped people. this is similar to WP gained by gunners, but just temporary.

There seam to be confusion right now.. we currently get 30 point when a gunner make a kill on the turret but the passengers too! I invested 1M + SP into logistic dropship and i don't even use them anymore because people spawn in my ship and ho wow I make free point by staying in here.. let's go make some popcorn..
so 1 passengers should not receive any form of reward for making my ship heavy and slow..
2 these same passengers should not give me a -50 point when they die AFK in my ship that is on fire then crash. they sould be responsible of their own death.
3 where are those "team spawn" point you usually get when you put up an uplink? I mean this is the most expensive uplink you can think of!
4 A way for my fellow gunners to give me ISK!! it is now impossible for me to finance my own ships with the current mechanics! |

Most of this is an incoherent mess, but I agree with this one. Only the driver should get vehicle kill assists. |

at least let us equip a large turret on the front for the pilot to use and gain kills instead of only getting assists, the HAVs have a driver that can use a large turret and 2 small turrets. |
