Currently, all we have is K/D and K/D Ratio. and thats all well and good.
but there are players who go through games with low Kill Counts, who happen to get a lot of Kill Assists instead, and the only credit they get is 25 WP.
I've been on both sides of this, as someone who put in a lot of work towards a kill only to see someone swoop in at the last second and make the last shot, and as someone who swooped in on someone else and took the last shot to gank a kill from a teammate.
I think there should be some sort of separate statistical credit for the work you put into those kills.
My suggestion is this is to modify the K/D Counter as follows:
the Kills counter in the K/D counter includes Kill Assists.
Create a new statistic called Deathblows, which would represent whomever got the last shot on an enemy.
so when an enemy dies, everyone who put damage on him gets a Kill. The person actually put him down with the last shot gets a Deathblow. Warpoint distribution doesn't change. You get 25 if you contribute damage but don't make the kill, you get 50 if you make the kill.
Alternatively, you could keep K/D as it is, and just add Kill Assists to the Leaderboard.

Just ignore KDR and look at the war point stat. That's the one that matters, at least for random pubbie games. Corp battles should have an isk efficiency stat since losing a battle can be worth it if you destroy more of the enemy corp's gear. |

Until farming is fixed, WP = useless info
I would also like to see my assist tracked just like it tracks my kills and my deaths. I also wouldn't mind seeing a breakdown of how kills are achieved (by which weapons). |

they do that in COD which is one thing i like about it. i want to at least show my teammates I'm doing something if my assists are high but kills are not. |
