Furthermore, FFA requires a balanced combination of timing, awareness, and gungame. The best part of FFA is that it is supported by a large player base of casuals, and in order for any FPS to be successful you must have a strong casual player base. In previous DUST interviews, many spokesman's have put emphasis on how DUST can be pick-up and play shooter, what better way to do this then implementing a FFA GAME MODE Personally, I am tired of carrying the team in my PROTO-KNAPSACK. The other day I went 42-1 in AMBUSH and lost the game WTF. I would really enjoy the game more if there was a game mode more oriented around personal skill Seriously? if you want FFA then play COD honestly.
So COD is the only game to have a FFA game mode; the ignorance on this forum is amazing. I'm not telling you to play FFA. I'm just suggesting to have FFA game mode. FFA is a well liked game mode in almost every game. Its easy to play and quite causal. CCP has proven they can create HARDCORE player market ie EVE, but have not mastered the casual part. A FFA game mode is a great step forward

You have to kill all the other clones before you can achieve the objective. Make up an objective, something that benefits the Angel cartel, Guristas, whichever. Maybe each player has a certain code they need to enter into an objective that can only be accessed when there are no other players in range.
It could have something to do with Sansha's nation.
Or even CONCORD.
The battles in Dust beta so far have had fairly flimsy narrative ground. A bunch of players each fighting to hang on to their clone supply makes as much sense as a battle between two teams fighting to hang on to their clone supply.
It could be a good introductory game mode, to pull individual gamers in (since the "You MUST have a corporation to play DUST!" thing will be intimidating for some players at first) and get them wondering about what else is out there.
What was that game with the "cops and robbers" mode? The one where you had to work together to get the reward, but you could betray your own people and cut them out of the reward in order to get a larger share? That would be an awesome "pirate" game mode in lowsec! You could have a "treasure" guarded by drones, send two or even three teams to retrieve it, each of them fighting the other teams and each player potentially turning on his or her teammates to walk away with more treasure. |

The game is based on that EVE players hires us DUST players to take over planets, the whole point with this would be gone if this were going to be implemented. IF this would be implemented you would have to come up with an idea why FFA should occur on a planet like the current system with skirmish and ambush. I don't play EVE but I am pretty sure EVE pilots do simple missions, they don't always take over planets and the like. FFA could be like a quick salvage mission in high sec and instead of fighting off pirates, you fight off other bounty hunters to "win" the right to loot that map... I like your point, but I must say that if something like FFA would be implemented it should be something like a squadmatch, one squad on its own against all the other squads in the game, that is basically FFA but with 3 mates to rely on, that would fit your description better. A squad is deployed for a quick mission and then realizes that other squads also have been deployed for the same purpose and then the battle begins. +1 I like this idea. It could help dedicated teams of 4/6 to really hone in their communication, and map control skills.

like most already said. You can bet the future arena in 2013 will offer this. At the moment, a FFA wouldnt fit the background of the game. But in a gladiator arena ? meh, you can do whatever you want ^^ |

Best part about it is that we can watch and gamble on the matches while they're in progress, which is beyond awesome. |
