First off, congratulations CCP, so far the new and revised beta,it's starting to look more and more like a respectable FPS. I haven't noticed any bugs, we once again can choose what type of battles we want to play, and the whole game has been improved to be more user friendly, help fix problems more quickly and give you more general support in between battles.
Unfortunately there's one thing that's been bugging me lately - Orbital Strikes. The rate that there being called in is unbelievable! In just one match, there is always at least a dozen called in, mostly from enemy teams. The new build just launched a few days ago, and already a weapon is being abused. This needs to be fixed immediately. I can already see the chaos that will ensue if O.S's aren't made more difficult to call in. Many people will think "Your overreacting, maybe you just suck, and have been blown up by them a lot" or "people will stop eventually" but this is completely false.
I am an average player, I get kills when necessary, I try to support my team as much as possible. Until I manage to level up my skills a bit more, I'm the same as the majority of players right now - rolling in Militia gear, trying to adapt to the game. Orbital Strikes are being used as a crutch, unfairly giving teams advantages that could be doing nothing but getting kills in matches, then launching them at a team. My idea is that the # of war points it takes to call in a O.S needs to be increased. And a significant increase. There supposed to be used a brief strategic move to clear and area out quickly, not called in non stop to better your K/D ratio. If players are able to call them in so quickly, then there's a problem. And I beg you CCP, don't let this continue. O.S's are a very good weapon, but there needs to be some restraint when using them. Limit the number of times a team can use them per match, increase the number of war points to use them, and if worst comes to worst in the highly unlikely situation, remove them ( I wouldn't want that at all). If you have any comments on my idea, think I have my facts wrong, or anything else, please feel free to respond to this thread. |
