I have two characters. I thought I am smart, assign one if the the passive gain and play the other, until the SP per match goes down, then switch, but when I started playing with the second character, I noticed that the SP gain per match was strangely low... |

@Shadows: The fact that it is constant is irrelevant in this situation.

Hmmm. Good question. .
I calculated a whole bunch of SP cap info in another thread. I read your question and went to post my opinion which i had thought i'd made my mind up about, but then i began to think deeper into it. There are many layers to this situation if you really think of how that additional 200,000 affects SP earned, diminishing returns, game time needed to hit the cap, etc..
I'll think about it a bit more before i post my thoughts. My first instinct though is, yes, it probably does count.
You were very close to testing the theory and answering the question definitively. If you want to test it for us all, that'd be great. Here's how i would test it if it weren't so time consuming and if i actually had a virgin character that's had a Passive SP on for a few days.
Create two characters. Assign one the Passive SP. Wait at least a few days for the passive to build up. Make sure both characters have an identical fitting with a repair tool. Go into a game on one account and (relax people, this is a test) spawn an LAV. Crash it until the armor is damaged. Repair it only until you get some points from it. Note the points. Immediately stop. Spend the remaining time in your spawn doing absolutely nothing. Do not gain kills, points, deaths or anything. Do nothing but stay alive and wait out the end of the match. Note the SP gained.
Logout and into your other character. Do the exact same test and make sure you match the points gained from the repairing you did on the other character. Note the SP gained and compare. If they are not the same then you've got your answer.
If anyone has a better way to test it that is as accurate and constant as this with no variables, please advise. This is just what popped off the top of my head. |

I think they actually sped up the gain.I put a stopwatch to it and it's now every 3.5 seconds.

I didn't use a stopwatch but counted roughly 3 seconds. I'm pretty sure it has always been around there.
